FAMILY
The forefathers of Mr. Tecksue Sae Chua were noblemen in China. His birthplace was in Tia-ang district, Canton county, Kwangtung province, South China. Mr. Tecksue was a fellow college graduate with the former President Chiang Kai-shek. He served the government in the fourth highest position after President Chiang Kai-shek. He was a nationalist and a man of justice. In the great troubled times of China, the country was still full of corrupted government officials. Mr. Tecksue was in serious dispute with President Chiang Kai-shek and disagreed with the government’s style of administration. Upon learning that President Chiang Kai-shek had issued an order to kill him, he fled to Thailand in 1932. He then earned his living as a doctor of Chinese traditional medicine.
EARLY LIFE
When Dr. Suchart was a young boy, he liked talking about the subject of Dhamma and rendering compassionate services to his fellow beings. He was not interested in learning in school but liked to learn more from others. After his father passed away when he was 9 years old, his mother had to work alone to raise her 7 children.
In his youth, the young Suchart liked playing under the Great King Rama I Memorial Bridge and swimming in the Chao Phraya River. Once, while swimming, he was seized by a cramp, unable to swim and sinking. Before he lost consciousness, he felt something lifting his body up, keeping his face and nose above water. His body floated along the river until a Chinese coffee seller’s boat passed by and rescued the boy Suchart from the water.
The memory of this incident of his miraculous survival remained strong in his mind. When Dr. Suchart was a grown-up and had to do public service, he firmly believed that the reason for him being alive was to render his services to others, therefore he did not die young.
When he was 10 years old, he stole 10 bahts from his mother and bought sweets for his friends. His mother found out about it and punished him by tying his right ankle with a piece of rope and attached the other end to the front door of the family’s house to humiliate him. From then on, young Suchart made a vow not to ask for any money from his mother. Thanks to her compassion, she sometimes left one or two bahts for him on his bed. On the days that he had no bus fare, he yielded to the necessity and took the money.
Since then, young Suchart did not go to school. He earned his own living getting paid for work: for example, serving noodles and coffee to patrons at footpath shops. Some nights, he returned home at one or two o’clock to find his mother still waiting up for him.
At the age of 14, he left home to work as an apprentice in trading shops. In the meantime, he continued his primary education at Wat Ratchaburana (Wat Lieb) School for Adults. He was able to not only pass but skip grades as well. After only two years of his studies, he completed grade IV primary education.
At the age of 17, he worked with Mr. Sahas Mahakoon at the Chinese Chamber of Commerce. During that period, a movie businessman brought a film to pledge for a loan. With young Suchart’s assistance, he met Mr. Sahas Mahakoon and the loan was granted. As a token of thanks, that man gave young Suchart an amulet of a Buddhist monk named Luang Poo Tuad (Changing Salty into Fresh Water), which was widely regarded as sacred. After receiving it, he kept it without paying it much attention. Until one day, young Suchart had an urge to test the miracle of his amulet. He then went to see a Buddhist monk in a temple and asked him about the method of invoking the sacred force of the amulet. That monk advised young Suchart of the right procedure.
When he began the procedure as suggested, he felt a big ball of light flying straight at his face which made him unconscious. After coming to his senses, his friends who witnessed the experiment told him that Phra Bodhisattva (a Would-be Buddha) Luang Poo Tuad came but he did not believe them. Afterwards he tested it again and again more than a hundred times until the Holy Spirit of Phra Bodhisattva Luang Poo Tuad really possessed young Suchart’s body and said, ”This man wants to test me, so I will take him on as my medium.”
START TO CURE SICK PEOPLE WITH HIS DIVINE POWER (1961-1964)
When the news spread out that the Supreme Spirit of Phra Bodhisattva Luang Poo Tuad used the body of young Suchart Kosolkitiwong as his medium, many sick people who suffered from all kinds of illnesses that were unable to be cured by doctors came to receive treatment from the divine power of Bodhisattva Luang Poo Tuad, through young Suchart. Many of them were thoroughly cured.
After a while, young Suchart was not willing to work for the Spiritual World so he planned his escape and fled to Laos but the Holy Spirit of Phra Bodhisattva Luang Poo Tuad still followed him and possessed him as before. During that period, there were political problems between the two countries and people were forbidden to go across the border. Dr. Suchart then challenged the sacredness of Luang Poo Tuad that if he was really sacred, Luang Poo Tuad must help him to return safely to Thailand. He was then miraculously returned home. It was at that time that he reached the mandatory age to be drafted into the armed forces. and served in the army for one year and six months.
SERVING IN THE ARMY
Private Suchart was drafted on March 23rd, 1964 and served in the First Anti-aircraft Regiment. Firstly, he was trained to man the anti-aircraft guns for four months at Camp Thanarat, Pranburi District, Prachuapkirikhan Province. Then he was transferred to an anti-aircraft unit. The official transfer letter from the Commander of Thanarat Camp read in part “P.V. Suchart Kosolkitiwong is a very good private with wonderful brain. A rank of Lieutenant Corporal is fit for him.”
While being a soldier, P.V. Suchart was very diligent, disciplined, and obedient to orders of his Commander. Sometimes, he felt in him divine power from the Spiritual World. On one occasion, while listening to lecture, P.V. Suchart raised his hand for permission to speak in front of the class. With the permission, he then spoke about strategy which was a matter far beyond the knowledge of a private. This puzzled and surprised the audience. On a certain hot day, P.V. Suchart said that he would call for rain. He then went to sit in the open-air, prayed a hymn and it then rained.
SERVING THE SPIRITUAL WORLD
After Dr. Suchart left military service, the Supreme Spirit of Phra Bodhisattva Luang Poo Tuad (Changing Salty into Fresh Water) possessed Dr. Suchart’s body and said that the situation of the country was so bad that he requested Dr. Suchart to establish Samnak Poo Sawan (the House of Divine Sages in Heaven) to assist the country.
Samnak Poo Sawan was officially founded on Visakha Puja Day in 1966 (Wednesday 4th May 1966) at a rented house No. 118/2 Soi Ana-mai, Sook Sawasdi Road, Bangpakok Sub-district, Rat Burana District, Bangkok, Thailand.
SAMNAK POO SAWAN IN THE WORLD
The ten-point objectives of Samnak Poo Sawan (the House of Divine Sages) are as follows:
1. Help relieve the physical and spiritual sufferings of all mankind;
2. Help lessen defilements in the minds of selfish human beings;
3. Help abolish dogmatic beliefs and ignorance in the minds of men;
4. Help uphold social justice in the world;
5. Help protect the existence of peace and monarchical institutions;
6. Help promote the progress of religions by all available means;
7. Help support all meditation practitioners in search of Nirvana;
8. Help cooperate with the efforts of the Would-be Buddha (Bodhisattva);
9. Help bring ethical morality to the minds of the younger generations;
10. Help confirm the belief in “Life after death” to frighten sinful men.
Samnak Poo Sawan in the Spiritual World is situated in the fifth realm of heaven named Nimmannaradi. It is the House where Divine Sages, Devas and Brahmas of all the heavens who have knowledge and experiences gather together for listening to and practising Dhamma.
On August 7th, 1965 at 12.30 hrs., at Baan Na-Bua, Renu Nakorn District, Nakhon Phanom Province, the Communist Party of Thailand declared the use of arms for killing Thai people. When the Devas and Brahmas who attained enlightenment during their life on earth, particularly those who were enlightened in Thailand knew that Thais would kill and destroy fellow Thais, they tried to seek ways and means to descend to earth to help human beings. The Three Realms of the Spiritual World: the World of Brahma Gods, the World of Heavenly Bodies, and the World of Misery Beings had decided at the end of year 1965 to found Samnak Poo Sawan in the world. This was done with the purposes of protecting the independence of Thailand, making Thai people religious while appreciating Dhamma through their mind purification, and lessening of defilements in their selfish minds during these times of calamity.
The Three Immortal Souls of the Great Masters of Heaven who descended to work at the House of Divine Sages in the earthly world included:
1. The Supreme Patriarch Kurupajarn, (Phra Bodhisattva Luang Poo Tuad Changing Salty into Fresh Water), the important Supreme Patriarch during the time of the old capital, Ayutthaya, about 400 years ago.) He is the Great President of Samnak Poo Sawan in the earthly world.
2. Tao Maha Brahma Jinna Panjara, (the right-hand disciple of the Most Venerable Moggallana Mahathera during the time of Lord Buddha, over 2500 years ago.) He is the Counsellor and Ceremonial Lord of the Spiritual World.
3. Somdej Phra Buddhacharn (Toh) Brahma Ransi, (the Most Famous Ecclesiastical Monk during the early time of the Rattanakosin period about 100 years ago.) He is the Prime Director of Samnak Poo Sawan.These Three Supreme Spirits from the Spiritual World descended to work regularly
at the Centre by possessing human medium who lived in pure and noble ways of life.
Dr. Suchart Kosolkiiwong became a medium for the Three Supreme Spirits of the Great Masters. He was chosen by the Spiritual World to do its work and whose karma in past lives twined with those of the Three Great Masters. His karma also tied with Thailand, as he was born in Thailand many times before including his present life. He was therefore chosen to help protect Thailand and the Thai people to remain forever Thais.
Dr.Suchart himself lived an ascetic and celibacy life, ate vegetarian meals, and conducted himself as a holy man by regularly practicing meditation at a schedule set for him by the Great Masters.
THE PEACE ENVOY OF THE WORLD OF DIVINITY
In 1973, the Spiritual World appointed Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong as the Peace Envoy of the World of Divinity.
Later on, when the world’s tensions intensified and troubles existed everywhere, the work of Samnak Poo Sawan was then expanded to promote true peace in the world.
THE WORK AT SAMNAK POO SAWAN
Phra Bodhisattva Luang Poo Tuad requested that Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong resign from all professional jobs in order to work at Samnak Poo Sawan and devote himself to help the human world. At that time, he already believed wholeheartedly that the Holy Spirit of Phra Bodhisattva Luang Poo Tuad really existed and all works were of the Spiritual World. So he prepared his body and mind to be able to immediately receive the divine power from the Spiritual World. For the first six months he took only two vegetarian meals a day: breakfast and lunch, and daily practised meditation for many hours. Many years later, when he had to work in communication with foreigners, he took three vegetarian meals a day. Vegetarianism is a way to secure a clean and pure body, free from the vengeful spirits of slaughtered animals. It helps purify the mind and soul of those who practice it to attain Dhamma and meditation easier and faster.
Dr. Suchart renounced his worldly well-being, unmarried, refrained from attending social gatherings for pleasure and from drinking alcohol and smoking. He dedicated himself to the holy life to have a clean body and mind to communicate with the Spiritual World.
Later in 1970, Samnak Poo Sawan was relocated to 270 Soi 65 (Chaturong Songkhram), Petchkasem Road, Bangkae Nua, Khet Pasicharoen, Bangkok. Miss Ladda Prasertkul, one of the followers of Samnak Poo Sawan, donated the land and religious people donated money for the construction of its buildings.
Dr.Suchart, the appointed Prime Director of Samnak Poo Sawan, received divine power to cure people from their sicknesses. They believed in him and came to get their treatment free of charge. At first, the Centre opened for this service on Saturdays and Sundays. Later on, due to the Centre’s extra works, it limited its treatment service to only on Sundays. The number of people to receive treatment each Sunday was limited to 300. The Center recorded statistics and listed patients who had recovered from their sicknesses that were caused by black magic or being possessed by evil spirits. It published, with the patients’ consent, several cases in many issues of various publications.
After giving out treatments to patients on each Sunday, Dr. Suchart preached, taught Dhamma and also answered Dhamma questions from the audience. It was one of his ways to help relieve his fellow mankind from spiritual sufferings. His teachings also covered many other fields of knowledge, for example, philosophy, economics, history, political science, science, and so on. These Dhamma preachings were also published in many publications.
Starting in 1978, when Dr. Suchart had to concentrate on promoting inter-religious brotherhood and world peace, he assigned a properly trained person to replace him in giving out treatment services. In 1989, Samnak Poo Sawan was confiscated by orders of the Treasury Department, so the treatment of bathing with lustral water was stopped.
At present, the treatment is done by patients or their family members making a wish in front of the image of Luang Poo Tuad, (Changing Salty into Fresh Water) on the second floor of the House of Divine Sages, and drawing a piece of paper from a container. This paper has a medicine number printed in it. They then present this number at the first floor and receive a list of herbal medicine in accordance with the number they have drawn. Who wants lustral water and lustral oil can also ask for them there. Many people have their wishes fulfilled and their sickness cured.
The work of the Spiritual World at Samnak Poo Sawan can be divided into 3 periods:
1. The period of Soul Led Human (1966-1976) when H.S.H. Prince Choompakaputra Jumpala, Professor Dr. Kloom Vajropala, Professor Dr. Luang Samarn Vanakij, Major General Tawil Kasetradhat, Dr. Boonyong Vongvanich, Acharn Kelong Panich, Acharn Booncheun Thongyu, Acharn Usa Palarachune etc. worked for 10 years.
2. The period of Human Led Soul (1977-1991). From 1977-1981 when its works advanced to the United Nations and various countries in Europe, America, Asia and Australia, several persons such as Police Major General Pibul Pasawat, Major General Prasit Cheunboon, Lieutenant General Samak Suwannakorn etc. led its works for 5 years.
During 1982-1991, the ten years of defending against law-suits, it was
Judge Chalermchai Jarupaibul who led its works.
3. The last period, Enter the Disciples (1992-2005), Assoc.Prof. Dr.Phichai Tovivich, Rear Admiral Sura Yutthawong, Dr. Thongmoah Champa-ngern etc. led its work. The World Peace Envoy (Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong), who then became Ven. Ariyawanso Bhikkhu, acted till his death as the Master of Ceremonies for events involving the Spiritual World.
DHAMMA MISSIONS TO BOOST MORALE
In 1972, with the independence of Thailand being threathened, the Great Masters arranged holy rituals and made “Sacred Talismanic Cloth to Protect Thai Independence.” Dr. Suchart distributed them to soldiers, policemen and civilian volunteers in the troubled border areas for their protection against any harm. With the motto, “Without independence, how can religion exist? When people suffer famine, no peace can be realized,” Dr. Suchart led the Dhamma Missions of the House of Divine Sages to boost morale. These missions traveled extensively to all parts of the country, distributing the Holy Talismanic Cloth, medicines, and other useful supplies to those men. By his speeches, Dr. Suchart raised their morale, their will to fight on, and their pride in their work, all of which were important for the protection of the security, safety and independence of the nation. He encouraged them to boost their patriotic love for their nation, religion and king. He also taught them to be good person and to practise the religious teachings of their faith, to be vigilant, and to refrain from over-drinking. If the places that he visited were important historical places, he would tell them about their significance and encouraged them to carry out their duty as soldiers with their utmost ability because our courageous Thai kings and ancestors had protected this land for us to live happily in peace. We would be ashamed, if we could not protect this land from harm.
He also emphasized that Thailand is an agricultural country. It was essential for each family to grow edible plants and vegetables at home in order to feed its members and thus cutting expenses. Dr. Suchart brought with him books, “Pueng Na Din, Chart Plod Bhai, (Rely on Top Soil, the Nation is Safe)” and “Kwarm Samred Kong Si Nak Karn Kaset (The Success of Four Agriculturists)” and Dhamma books of Samnak Poo Sawan to distribute to soldiers as well.
Besides travelling to distribute Talismanic Cloth to Protect Independence, on some occasions, he received commands from the Great Masters of the World of Gods to travel alone to the frontier to conduct the correct ceremonies of the World of Souls to help protect Thailand. These frontier trips were during 1975-1976 while the Communist invasion threat was imminent. Dr. Suchart began launching the task of distributing Talismanic Cloth on the 5th of March, 1972 and ended it in 1979. The Communist terrorists stopped their actions and laid down their arms. When there were no Communists, the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan ordered close.
Dr. Suchart told us about distributing Talismanic Cloth that though this cloth had no talismanic wordings, it had great meanings because there were pictures of Somdej Phra Buddhacharn (Toh) Brahma Ransi in the middle as well as drawn pictures of the four courageous Thai kings. On the left were King Naresuan the Great and King Putta Yodfa the Great. On the right were King Ram Kamhaeng the Great and King Taksin the Great. There were also pictures of four big animals: elephant, tiger, naga and singh. Therefore 9 items altogether. The Talismanic Cloth size was 9x9 inches, and was made in the reign of King Rama IX, all together totaled three 9s. The sound of 9 in Thai means taking a step forward, so stepping forward for Thainess. This Cloth was a symbol of protection and was blessed with the power of Buddha, Dhamma and Sangha. It would protect us only when we maintained our vigilancy, our good moral conduct, and our readiness to sacrifice ourself for the greater whole. This Talismanic Cloth helped save lives of many soldiers who attacked and destroyed the enemy base at Kun Ching, Huay Sai.
Dr. Suchart spoke about the risks associated with travelling to distribute the Talismanic Cloth. He had been attacked by gunfire about 3-4 times. The first time was when distributing it at Lao Kor 6, Na Haew District, Loei Province. The bridge to that place was broken, Upon seeing us, the Communist terrorists stationed were taken by surprise and started their shooting. Another time, Major General Prasit Chuenboon accompanied the group at Na Chaluay, Ubon Ratchathani Province. When they arrived at the burnt bridge, the land below was full of land mines but Dr. Suchart told the driver to continue. Two communist terrorists on the mountain were stunned to see the vehicle driving through mined land and opened fire. The third risk, from Tung Chang to Uttaradit Province, a Communist terrorist’s vehicle chased them, but they escaped. There were 73 provinces in Thailand at that period, 49 provinces were under the Communists. The world believed that Thailand would be the next domino and would collapse under Communism like Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia.
Samnak Poo Sawan had published many books on Dhamma Missions to Boost Morale, the distribution of Talismanic Cloth to Protect Thai Independence, as well as Dr. Suchart’s speeches made during these trips.
BUILDING PHRA SRI ARIYA MAITREYA TO NULLIFY EVIL SPELLS
In 1965, the situation of war in Vietnam seemed to be spreading to Thailand. At that time, refugees from Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos began to take refuge in Thailand. Different ideologies and ideas splitted the Thais into camps, and the situation on the border was undesirable.
In 1966, Dr. Suchart was commanded by the Great Masters to travel to collect soil from several holy places both in Thailand and from neighbouring countries: Thailand, India, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Malaysia and Burma. On the 19th of May, 1970, on Visakha Puja Day, Dr. Suchart held a ceremony to consecrate the blessings of the Devas and Brahmas into the soil brought from the holy places in 7 countries.
Devas of Suvanabhumi Peninsula and Protector Devas reported that the Peninsula would be facing serious troubles, The meeting of the Three Realms of the Spiritual World decided therefore to build an Image of Phra Bodhisattva (a Would-be Buddha) Sri Ariya Maitreya, so he could spread his blessings to protect the Suvarnabhumi Peninsula from imminent dangers. Inside the Image of Phra Sri Ariya Maitreya contained soil from the holy places of the 7 countries.
Samnak Poo Sawan had proceeded accordingly to nullify evil spells that would befall on the Suvarnabhumi Peninsula, by invoking Phra Bodhisattva Sri Ariya Maitreya’s blessed compassion for mankind. This future Buddha, according to our belief, resides on the fourth realm of heaven (Dusit Heaven) in his waiting to be the next Buddha succeeding the Samana Gotama Buddha. With his divine compassion to save the world, together with the blessings from Devas and Brahmas who were intended to be born again to practise Dhamma to achieve Arahathood, the Suvarnabhumi Peninsula would face less troubles.
By the decision of the World of Souls, Samnak Poo Sawan under the care of the Supreme Spirit of Luang Poo Tuad (Changing Salty into Fresh Water) had built the Image of Phra Sri Ariya Maitreya for the following purposes:
-To nullify evil spells and to lessen the effect of hell fire to befall on the Suvarnabhumi Peninsula (Indo-China).
-To place this Image at the balcony of Samnak Poo Sawan’s Building so every visitor can pay respect.
-To promote Buddhism at its mid-era to last for a long time. The great merit from this act would give blissful peace to people in the Suvarnabhumi Peninsula.
-To strengthen close relationships between Thailand and its neighbouring countries, leading first to peace in the vicinity and then the world.
On 18th July 1970, on Saturday of the 15th night of the waxing moon of the 8th month in the year of the dog at 13.00 hrs, His Royal Highness Pra Vorawongther Pra-ong Chao Anusorn Mongkolkarn of the Chakri Dynasty presided over the Casting Ceremony of the Image of Phra Bodhisattva Sri Ariya Maitreya, who stood at 6 feet in width and 6 feet in height.
On 9th August 1970, Tao Maha Brahma Jinna Panjara, the Ceremonial Lord of the World of Souls, Overcomer of Mara (Demons) and Head of 16 Realms of Rupa Brahma, descended to Earth to put soil from holy places in 7 countries in the head of the Image of Phra Bodhisattva Sri Ariya Maitreya, to lessen the conflicts in the Indochinese Peninsula.
On 11th August 1970, Samnak Poo Sawan organized the Ceremony to Install the Image of Phra Bodhisattva Sri Ariya Maitreya on the balcony of its building.
During 19th-21st March 1971, Samnak Poo Sawan organized the Celebration and Eye-Opening of the Image of Phra Bodhisattva Sri Ariya Maitreya. There was a miracle: it rained heavily and the Image of Phra Bodhisattva Sri Ariya Maitreya shedded tears. Tao Maha Brahma Jinna Panjara told members of Samnak Poo Sawan in writing: “the fourth month rain is miraculously heavy, Phra Sri Ariya Maitreya sheds tears feeling pity for human beings who live their immoral lives.”
PROMOTION OF VEGETARIANISM
In 1972, Samnak Poo Sawan under the supervision of Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong set up a demonstration-workshop named “Kin Pua Yu (Eat to Survive)” to promote vegetarian foods. It was his opinion that Thailand accepted Buddhism as her national religion with five precepts for all Buddhists. The first precept was to abstrain from killing, but flesh consumption encouraged the killing of animals. So a vegetarian restaurant was set up there. Dr. Suchart instructed members of Samnak Poo Sawan and encouraged the public to see bad effects and dangers of consuming flesh and to see benefit of vegetarianism. Later on, another demonstration-workshop “Kin Pua Yu” was set up at the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan for the purpose of persuading tourists who visited that place to taste and learn to like vegetarian foods more and more. This was also the beginning of the Vegetarian Centre of Thailand in 1972, which later led to the formal establishment of the Vegetarian Centre of Thailand in 1977. 14
At present, the Vegetarian Centre of Thailand is an associated member of the Inter-national Vegetarian Union. Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong was the Founding President of the Centre. Associate Professor Dr. Phichai Tovivich is now the President after Acharn Kelong Panich, the former President of the Centre passed away in 2008.
DR. SUCHART’S VOWS
When Dr. Suchart studied in-dept and understood clearly about life, he knew that the Great Masters wanted him to work for public services. He was determined and intended to do as they commanded. On December 21st, 1972 at 19.00 hours, in the midst of the meeting of members at Samnak Poo Sawan, Dr. Suchart made his vows to dedicate himself to serve the Devas and Brahmas, working along the path of a Would-be Buddha, His vows to serve the work of Samnak Poo Sawan were as follows:
1. I will run this place with justice;
2. My life has no meaning and I dedicate my life for the work of Samnak Poo Sawan;
3. I have no future. I will pray and meditate to have a peaceful state of mind so that the Supreme Spirits can easily work through my body;
4. The command of the Great Masters comes first, above those of my parents and superiors;
5. I am willing to die rather than bowing to Adhamma or unrightiousness.
HIS DAILY WAY OF LIFE
Dr. Suchart dedicated himself to work for all mankind according to the Bodhisattva’s way. His daily way of life included:
- Gave up business, houses and properties, lived a good ascetic life and had no family;
- Refrained from going out for sensual pleasure and from social gatherings for any enjoyment;
- Spent his restful, non-working time praying and in meditation in order to communicate with spirits in the Spiritual World;
- Took strictly vegetarian meals;
- Lived like a hermitage with only bare necessity, and slept on a piece of cloth only.
As a Layman before Ordination The daily routine of Dr. Suchart which the Great Masters assigned for him, with the exception when he had to do such jobs of Samnak Poo Sawan as distributing the Holy Talismanic Cloth, going to Ratchaburi or abroad, appeared below. Only Monday was a free day. This routine was practised since the 15th of January 1973, and all relevant members of Samnak Poo Sawan khew it well.

After Ordination
In 1991, after he became a monk and advanced in age, he practised dhamma for the monkhood but lived in solitude in the forest, leaving it from time to time only to visit his fellows.

Laying out System and Rules of Work
After he was appointed Director, more people volunteered to work for Samnak Poo Sawan. The Great Masters therefore laid down rules for followers in each category at Samnak Poo Sawan. Later, when the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan was open and started to function, he adapted those rules to be used there too.
In working for world peace, Dr. Suchart deemed it necessary to have a wide, open area with an atmosphere of inter-religious brotherhood conducive to men’s peace of mind, so he provided a place, about 100 kilometers south of Bangkok, and called it, “the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan.”
THE RELIGIOUS LAND HOOPPHA SAWAN
The Religious Land Hooppha Sawan is situated in the mountain range named “Tham Phra” (locally named “Suae-Mohb” or crouching tiger) at Donsai Sub-district, Pak Tho District, Ratchaburi Province.
This place had an important historical significance. In the third century of the Buddhist Era, King Ashoka the Great of the Indian Sub-Continent sent out several Buddhist missions to disseminate Buddhism in many lands. One Buddhist mission led by the Most Venerable Sona Mahathera and the Most Venerable Uttara Mahathera had travelled by ship to Suvarnabhumi Peninsula. That ship sank at Prachuapkhirikhan Province. The Buddhist mission continued their travel by cart and took their night stop over in a cave later named “Salika,” located at Suae Mohb mountain. The mission then climbed up its peak to have a bird’s eye view of the local community to start their preaching of Buddhism. This place was the dawn of Buddhism in Thailand. The mission later traveled to the Khoo-Bua Village some 10 kilometerss away from the Tham Phra site and started propagating Buddhism.
On one occasion, when Luang Vichit Vatakarn, the then Director-General of the Department of Fine Arts realized the importance of this place, he officially declared on February 25th, 1935 , the Tham Phra mountain range a registered archaeological site of the Ratchaburi Province.
In 1970, Dr. Suchart and one novice made a trip on foot to this mountain range to seek a suitable place to practise meditation. After surveying the area, he considered it a proper place as it enjoyed a fine view and was conducive for meditation and relaxation. With this reason, he started developing the place to be a religious centre for all religions. He then proceeded to contact leaders of other religions and erected objects of worship of Buddhism and other religions, which would pave the way to promote inter-religious brotherhood and to organize the World Eternal Peace Conference in the future.
The development and construction of the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan proceeded mindfully with the best conservation of nature. On each occasion that a ceremony was organized, the chairman of the ceremony would plant a memorable tree as well.
On each peak of the mountain range at the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan, there were important objects of worship, for example, the Peace Pagoda, a symbol of world peace; the 9-metre high Image of Lord Buddha; Hindu God Lord Ganesha; the huge Image of the Would-be Buddha Kaccayana Mahathera, built in Chinese style; the 9-metre high Statue of Lord Jesus Christ; a miniature statue of the Virgin Mary, presented by the Vatican; and the 9-metre high Image of the Would-be Buddha Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva (Kuan Yin). According to the project of promoting inter-religious brotherhood, there were plans to erect other images of all Holy Founders or symbolic structures of great religions of the world with the granted permission from their respective religious leaders.
The Holy Statue of the Most Famous Ecclesiastical Buddhist Monk and Royal Counsellor of King Rama IV and King Rama V of the Chakri Dynasty (B.E. 2331-2415/A.D. 1788-1872) known as Somdej Phra Buddhacharn (Toh) Brahma Ransi was installed in the Singh Mongkol Boon Bamrung cave.
Inside the “Salika Cave” was the Holy Statue of “Phra Bodhisattva Luang Poo Tuad (Changing Salty into Fresh Water),” the 3rd Supreme Patriarch of Ayutthaya Period. In front of the cave, the Statue of King Rama I the Great, the founder of the present Chakri Dynasty and Bangkok City was installed. He once marched his army to face his enemy and stopped at this place. Besides, there were Prasart Phra Dhatu (Pavilion), and the Chief Lord Indra Hall. There were also places for conducting rituals and ceremonies: the Jinnapooto Memorial Foundation Hall, Brahma Ransi Pavilion, and so on.
The most important building was the World Eternal Peace Conference constructed to convene the World Eternal Peace Conference.
The landscape of the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan was fully suitable for pilgrimage. All the time there were religious people who traveled there to pay homage to objects of worship. Particularly on weekends, there were many organized tour groups visiting the site. Each month about ten thousand people visited the Religious Land.
At the beginning of his work to develop the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan, Dr.Suchart had to fight against influential groups who with commercial purpose in mind attempted to commence rock-blasting activities of the Tham Phra mountain range, a protected national archaeological site.
To achieve the ten-point objectives of Samnak Poo Sawan, the following offices were set up at the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan:
1. Jinnapooto Memorial Foundation
2. Office of the World Peace Envoy
3. International Federation of Religions
4. Inter-religious Brotherhood Promotion Centre
5. Vegetarianism Promotion Centre
6. World Eternal Peace Conference Project
7. Youth Morality Training Centre
8. International Meditation Centre
9. Psychic Ailment Treatment Centre
10. Bodhisattva Housing Project
All these tasks were under the responsibility of Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong.
The Religious Land Hooppha Sawan organized activities according to periods of
traditional festivals for merit making, and arranged festivals on significant occasions relating to the nation, the religion, and the monarchy. Some important ceremonies were organized here. These included the Consecration Ceremony of the Buddha Amulets containing holy soils from 9 countries (for unity), the Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony of the Peace Pagoda, the Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony of the World Eternal Peace Conference Hall, etc. In such ceremonies the participants were ambassadors, representatives from diplomatic corps, as well as more than ten thousand religious people.
At the Religious Land in the night of the 19th of every month, religious followers from all parts of Thailand would gather around the Peace Pagoda to practise religious activities and listen to Dhamma speeches of Dr. Suchart, who was also often referred to as the Peace Envoy. Those speeches helped them learn about the situation of the country and the world. They also learned about using meditation power to halt military forces. After the speech, they all chanted and prayed in unison to the Divine Power for the safety and peace of the nation and for all mankind. They then spent the rest of the night in meditation on the 12-acre flat area on the mountain range till 04.00 hrs. when they once again chanted together before departing for home. This activity was initiated in 1977 and lasted until March 1991.
Dr. Suchart also instructed members of Samnak Poo Sawan and the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan in the various provinces to arrange regular chanting, praying and meditating sessions for the safety and peace of the nation and the entire world.
In June 1981, Dr. Suchart and his Executive Committee had drafted “Rules of the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan” for the purpose of making the Religious Land a supramundane land.
To keep up with world events, the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan adopted the adjusted ten-point objectives to serve the new society as guidelines for performing its works as follows:
1. Help relieve the physical and spiritual sufferings of all mankind;
2. Help lessen defilements in the minds of selfish human beings;
3. Help abolish dogmatic beliefs and ignorance in the minds of men;
4. Help uphold social justice in the world;
5. Help protect the existence of peace and the monarchical institutions;
6. Help promote the progress of religions by all available means;
7. Help support all technical experts who have genuine knowledge and who are truly committed to working for the prosperity of society and the country;
8. Help cooperate with all well-wishers for the good of our nation;
9. Help bring ethical morality to the minds of the younger generations;
10. Help confirm the belief in “Life after death” so that people will avoid committing sinful acts.
Dr. Suchart has undertook to work in line with these objectives for the New Society and at the same time to work also for world peace.
To carry out all projects for world peace, he promoted activities to instill basic ethical morality in the mind of the younger generations: to become peace lovers, to realize the supreme value of life and to apply non-violence means in solving their future problems. Furthermore, he organized and directed many activities in relation to world peace promotion projects. Those included:
1. The ordination of monks and novices, there were about
30 monks and novices ordained at each time.
2. The setting up of social welfare volunteer group named the ‘Lion Youth Group”
with the purpose to train them to do beneficial work for the
community and to behave themselves according to the Buddhist doctrines as
to try to get rid of the sources of all evils --greed, hatred and delusion -- from
their minds.
3. The arrangements of Buddhist meditation programmes for the general public;
4. The dissemination of the Buddhist ideals and morality to the public through the media of film, slides, books, newspapers, etc.
In his future programmes, he was very interested in setting up the International
Meditation Centre at Hooppha Sawan too but it was not materialized.
JINNAPOOTO MEMORIAL FOUNDATION
Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong and his Executive Committee had formed the Jinnapooto Memorial Foundation with the granted licence from the Department of Religious Affairs to carry out its manifested objectives. It was registered as a legal entity with the National Police Department on September 9th, 1975. Prof. Dr. Kloom Vajaropala was the first Chairman of the Foundation. Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong was appointed the second Chairman in 1976-1989.
According to the licence, the Jinnapooto Memorial Foundation had the following objectives:
1. Propagate Buddhism.
2. Research, study and propagate biographies of the Supreme Patriarch Kurupajarn Phra Bodhisattva Luang Poo Tuad (Changing Salty into Fresh Water) and Somdej Phra Buddhacharn (Toh) Brahma Ransi.
3. Research, study and disseminate information on the subject of spirituality and the mind.
4. Provide public services according to the resolution of the Executive Committee.
5. Help promote the ten-point objectives of Samnak Poo Sawan.
6. Carry out other beneficial public activities as agreed by the resolution of the Executive Committee.
7. The Foundation was a non-political entity.
Dr. Suchart himself implemented the objectives of the Foundation with many
activities, for instance:
- Accepting invitations to give lecture on Dhamma at many academic institutes of
different levels and to give interviews on the subject of peace and religion in radio and television programmes.
- Visiting soldiers and policemen stationed along the remote borders to boost their morale.
- Propagating sermons of the Great Masters of Samnak Poo Sawan
in newspapers, Dhamma publications, Dhamma cassette tapes and making slides to be used during his lecture.
- Erecting objects of worship in the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan. The most important one was the Peace Pagoda (Santi Chedi) which was a miniature of Nibbana Chedi in heaven. It had ten intricate spires representing the ten virtues of Lord Buddha. Inside each spire enshrined the Holy Relics of Lord Buddha, Arahants and Bodhisattvas presented by Sri Lanka, Nepal and also Thailand. There were also Holy Soils from sacred places of various countries and Holy Soils from the Four Holy Places of Buddhism in the Jambu Continent (India) which were enshrined at the base of the Pagoda. The most beautifully and elaborately designed image of Lord Buddha was inside the Peace Pagoda, opened for public worship only on the 19th of every month and on special occasions. In the pagoda, there was a stone inscription on the wall, telling about the importance of the Peace Pagoda.
- Providing religious functions on significant days of Buddhism, celebrations of festival days, and particularly on Visakha Puja Day, the ceremony of Paying Homage to Great Masters of Samnak Poo Sawan would be organized.
- Forming the International Federation of Religions.
- Setting up the Inter-religious Brotherhood Promotion Centre.
- Doing research, studying and propagating biographies of the Supreme Patriarch
Kurupajarn Phra Bodhisattva Luang Poo Tuad (Changing Salty into Fresh Water) and Somdej Phra Buddhacharn (Toh) Brahma Ransi.
- Disseminating the facts on spirituality and mind through lectures, books
and audio-visual aids.
- Contributing money and humanitarian aids to help people who were suffered from calamity.
- Donating money to construct lodgings at Ananda Kuti, Nepal, for pilgrims who
traveled to pay homage to the Holy Places of Buddhism.
- Helping in the restoration of school buildings, and distributing clothes, stationary
and medicines to needy pupils and students.
- Supporting the ordination of novices, monks and as well as lay-people who were
determined to practise meditation and mind purification.
- Offering scholarships to assist good but needy students and pupils. In 1976- 1977, he offered a total of 26 scholarships to undergraduates in universities and in secondary schools both in Bangkok and in many provinces. After presenting scholarships, he gave a speech on moral conduct, and told how meditation could benefit both in their studies and examination.
PROPAGATION OF DHAMMA AND MORALITY
In 1972-1980:
Dr. Suchart led his missions to boost the morale of the soldiers and policemen stationed along the remote border to encourage their dedication for the cause of the nation and world peace. He made more than 30 trips.
1973-1981:
Upon invitations, he gave lectures on the nation’s and world’s situation, the Buddhist solutions to social problems etc. at many academic institutes of different levels, government agencies, seminars, country prisons and so on. He was invited to lecture about 140 times.
1977-1981:
He gave monthly interviews on peace and religion to the press, media, radio and television programmes many times.
He directed the composition of nearly 20 songs on morality and peace ideals to be recorded and presented to audiences.
1977-1981:
On the 19th of each month, he delivered his speech on morality and peace ideals and relayed important events of the world to those religious people of different faiths.
Dr. Suchart occasionally gave his lecture on Buddhist morality and peace ideals to those on tours to the Religious Land.
- To educate the general public on Dhamma and peace ideals as well as to urge their prompt awareness of the threat of war, he issued and published about 90 publications.
- Whenever he was on his religious mission abroad, he never failed to urge the people to be aware of the immediate threat of war and guide them to the way of permanent peace.
- On December 25th, 1977, he issued a declaration on “the World Peace Day.” An appeal for world peace was made to such prominent world figures as Heads of States and Heads of Governments, Kings, Presidents, Prime Ministers, Ambassadors and so on, urging them to live in peaceful unison.
- On April 9th, 1981, he issued the Peace Declaration and sent it to the Thai Government, warning them of the possible war that might bring an unmeasurable disaster to the people as well as urging them to change their minds from greed, hatred, delusion (the three evil causes of fighting among men), and campaigning for the nationwide prayer for world peace.
- While attending the Annual NGO/DPI Conference of the United Nations at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on September 10th, 1981, he urged mass prayer for the cause of human unity and world peace.
INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF RELIGIONS
When the world situation became tense with the possible outbreak of World War III, Dr. Suchart considered that it was high time to work fully for world peace. He saw the need to have a particular centre devoted for world peace. So he suggested to the Executive Committee’s Buddhist members of Samnak Poo Sawan and the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan to form the International Federation of Religions (IFR). The IFR was registered with the Government of Thailand on 18th November 1975 with its headquarters at the No. 59, Soi 31 (Swasdi), Sukhumvit Road, Klongton Sub-district, Pra Khanong District, Bangkok. Maj. General Prakarn Bhuvanartnurak was the President of the Federation.
Objectives of the IFR
According to Article III of its Constitution, the IFR has the following objectives:-
1. To help promote mutual practice amongst members having strict observance of the teachings of the great founders of religions;
2. To help strengthen unity, solidarity, and brotherhood amongst members;
3. To help propagate the sublime doctrines of religion;
4. To help render cooperation in the work of social, educational, cultural, and other humanitarian services;
5. To help promote a lasting peace and harmony for all mankind, and collaborate with other organizations working towards the same goal;
6. To help promote unification amongst men with an idea of creating world unity;
7. To help eliminate controversial disagreement on religions and political doctrines in order to raise the spirit of religious brotherhood and equality for all mankind;
8. To help promote human rights in their work that will not cause harm and difficulties to mankind;
9. To help search for ways and means to work together on the World Eternal Peace Conference.
In 1977, Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong was elected President and served in this position up until 1989. When the Court of Justice confiscated the property of Jinnapooto Memorial Foundation, the Federation stopped functioning and was closed.
Under his direction, he made strenuous efforts to materialize his peace ideals, expanding all-out nationwide activities especially of the branch offices of the International Federation of Religions and appealing the ideal to people of all walks of life. There were IFR’s branches in 52 provinces.
The IFR began to work on its inter-religious brotherhood promotion.
Later, he moved the headquarters of the Jinnapooto Memorial Foundation and the International Federation of Religions to be permanently sited at the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan, the proposed venue for the World Eternal Peace Conference. From this place his Religious Mission for Peace had been sent to many countries around the world, to strengthen religious brotherhood and peace cooperation among those prominent religious leaders and peace activists, and introduce them to his peace ideal especially on solidifying religious and peace forces against the war mongers. He also proposed to them his plan to hold the international meeting to prevent war, the World Eternal Peace Conference scheduled for 1982 at the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan.
INTER-RELIGIOUS BROTHERHOOD – THE WAY TO PEACE
To publicize to the general public the achievement made by the IFR’s Religious Mission for Peace in promoting inter-religious brotherhood and world peace cooperation, the IFR organized the Exhibition of the Religious Mission for Peace on various occasions:
October 19th, 1977:
An Exhibition of Christianity – Buddhism Brotherhood Promotion
December 25th, 1977:
The Anointing and Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony of the 9-metre High Statue of Lord Jesus Christ, the construction of which was completed in 1979.
February 19th, 1978:
An Exhibition of Buddhism-Sikhism Brotherhood Promotion.
October 19th, 1978:
A Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony of the World Eternal Peace Conference Hall with the participation of representatives of 5 major religions including diplomatic corps members from 19 countries stationed in Bangkok.
October 6th, 1979:
Bishop Peitro Carretto, President of the Episcopal Commission on Dialogue and Ecumenism in Thailand conferred the image of Virgin Mary brought from the Vatican City to Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong to be sited along with the Statue of Lord Jesus Christ on a mountain peak at the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan.
October 19th, 1980:
A Praying Ceremony for World Peace was held along with 4 other functions:
- An Anointing and Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony of the 9-metre high Image of the Would-be Buddha Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva (Kuan Yin).
- An Exhibition of the Works on the Inter-religious Brotherhood Promotion by the 3rd-6th Missions.
- The Fourth Year Celebration of the Peace Pagoda with its renovation in golden leaves. (the former one was in white)
- A Praying Ceremony for World Peace.
The Ceremony was presided over by the Most Rev. Peitro Carretto, President of the
Episcopal Commission on Dialogue and Ecumenism in Thailand with H.H. Sri Satguru Jagjit Singh Ji Maharaj, the Supreme Spiritual Leader of Namdhari Sikhs as Chairman of the Opening Ceremony. This ceremony was held in support of the achieved efforts toward world peace and lasted 10 days.

SIGNIFICANT MEETINGS ON PEACE COOPERATION
In 1977-1991, since worldwide prominent religious and peace leaders (including diplomatic corps) were greatly interested in the IFR’s activities for world peace and its plan to hold the World Eternal Peace Conference, they paid a visit to the Headquarters of IFR, located at the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan, Ratchaburi Province, Thailand. They had met with Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong, President and with some senior members of IFR’s Executive Committee to exchange views on their creative peace dialogue and strengthen their concrete peace cooperation plan to achieve world peace. This could be summarized as follows;
February 24th, 1978:
Meeting with the 15th Supreme Spiritual Leader of Namdhari Sikhism H.H. Sri Satguru Jagjit Singh Ji Maharaj.
May 11th, 1978:
Meeting with senior members of the Executive Committee of the Asian Conference on Religion and Peace (ACRP). In this great meeting, the Most Rev. Nikkyo Niwano, President of Rissho Kosei-kai and President of ACRP kindly participated and delivered a valuable speech to promote the inter-religious cooperation and also world peace.

Dr. Reinhart Ruge, President of WCPA and Dr. T.P. Amerasinghe, Vice-President of WCPA, a distinguished guest at the above ceremony, read the Citation appointing Dr. Suchart the World Peace Envoy of WCPA for the seventh time.
Besides, Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong was cordially invited by embassies stationed in Thailand to participate in their National Day celebrations. On those occasions, he joined in congratulating the host and exchanged views with many diplomats on the promotion of world peace and international better understanding through inter-religious brotherhood.
PEACE ENVOY
Appointed by the Spiritual World
In 1973, Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong was appointed the “Peace Envoy of the World of Divinity” by the Supreme Lord of the Spiritual World. After the appointment, with his high responsibility, Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong started working immediately for world peace in time for the current political world situation.
Appointed by World Organizations
In Dr. Suchart’s contacts with foreign countries, important international organizations and world prominent persons agreed with his idea and works. They therefore appointed him to the following positions:
The First Time: The World Constitution and Parliament Association (WCPA) held its 4th Annual Conference in New Delhi, India between 21st-24th February 1981. At this conference, a delegate presented an urgent motion for the WCPA worldwide campaign for the World Constitution to be adopted by world citizens. There had to be a person travelling to promote better understanding with the governments around the world. This delegate requested that the Conference suggest a nominee so that they would unanimously adopt the motion. No one was nominated to be elected. A senator of Bombay then proposed that the Conference establish an ad-hoc committee of 5 members comprising representatives of Sri Lanka, Mexico, India, America and Australia to choose an appropriate person for this purpose.
The Conference reconvened its meeting on February 24th, 1981 and at 16.30 hrs. Dr. T. P. Amerasinghe, Barrister and Judge of the High Court of Sri Lanka, announced to the quorum of the plenary session, “By a special resolution unanimously adopted by a Trustee, we the World Constitution and Parliament Association, in recognizing the grand work for peace he has already performed and in believing that as an Ambassador for Peace he can advance the process of obtaining ratification of the Constitution for the Federation of Earth and the call for a Provisional World Parliament to meet in 1982, are pleased to appoint Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong, President of the International Federation of Religions, as Peace Envoy of the Association under the Resolution passed at the New Delhi Conference of the Association held between February 21st -24th, 1981.”
The Second Time: At the First Session of the Provisional World Parliament in Brighton, England on 4th-17th September 1982, the plenary voted unanimously confirming the appointment of Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong as “World Peace Envoy.”
The Third Time At the Second Session of the Provisional World Parliament in New Delhi, India on March 15th-29th, 1985, the delegates carried out unanimously the motion to confirm the appointment of Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong to serve the special position of “World Peace Envoy.”
The Fourth Time At its meeting held at Denver Marriott West Colorado, U.S.A., from June 27th to 29th, 1986, the Executive Cabinet of the World Constitution and Parliament Association passed a special resolution to re-elect Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong “World Peace Envoy” for the fourth time in succession.
The Fifth Time Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong was appointed “World Peace Envoy” again from a unanimous decision of the 3rd Provisional World Parliament of the WCPA met at Fontainebleau Hilton Hotel in Miami, Florida, U.S.A. on 23rd of June, 1987 which Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong attended from 18th-28th June 1987.
The Sixth Time At the Congress of the Executive Committee of WCPA at its Headquarters, Lakewood, Colorado , U.S.A. from the 17th-19th June 1990. The Congress decided for Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong to continue to be the World Peace Envoy.
The Seventh Time In the ceremony of presenting the Honourary Medal “Summa Cum Laude” from Dr. Edward C. Yang, Rector of John Dewey University of the U.S.A. at Samnak Poo Sawan on the 30th of March, 1991, Dr. Reinhart Ruge, President of WCPA read the citation of the World Peace Envoy’s work and appointed him the World Peace Envoy for the seventh time. Later in May 1991 in WCPA’s assembly, there was a decision to confirm the appointment of Dr. Suchart the World Peace Envoy for another term.
After that, the Provisional World Parliament of WCPA’s assembly and every annual conference of WCPA would confirm the re-appointment of the World Peace Envoy even though he had already ordained as a Buddhist monk.
Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong’s appointment as “World Peace Envoy” by the world conference was due to the fact that those prominent world leaders had realized, from their meetings and conferences together with him, that he had a firm determination to invite religious, peace and political leaders from all over the world to attend the World Eternal Peace Conference to halt the imminent outbreak of World War III.
The Appointment of the Permanent World Peace Envoy
In the 6th Session of the Provisional World Parliament held at Bangkok Centre Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand on the 24th-27th of March, 2003 in the midst of the catastrophe of the world situation when the U.S.A. started to attack Iraq on the 20th of March 2003, the Office of the World Peace Envoy and the Kuan Yin Inter-religious Park jointly organized the 60th Birthday Anniversary Celebration of Ven. Ariyawanso Bhikkhu (Dr. Suchart Kosol-kitiwong) at the Kuan Yin Inter-religious Park, the headquarters of the Office of the World Peace Envoy. Among delegates of the Provisional World Parliament who joined the ceremony, there included members who had faith in Ven. Ariyawanso Bhikkhu. Dr. T.P. Amerasinghe read the citation praising Ven. Ariyawanso Bhikkhu. Dr. Reinhart Ruge and Dr. T.P. Amerasinghe signed their names on the letter appointing Ven. Ariyawanso Bhikkhu “Permanent World Peace Envoy” on 28th March 2003.
WORKS OF THE PEACE ENVOY OF THE WORLD OF DIVINITY
When Dr. Suchart worked on behalf of Peace Envoy of the World of Divinity, he gave sermons and suggested means for solving important problems with wits and deep thoughts. He also provided for public benefit straight forward and factual comments on situations of the country and the world.
Most of his sermons iterated the teaching of each religion for believers to live together peacefully and happily. He considered that all mankind even though different in religious belief should not disunite. The World Wars had broken out twice which had made great catastrophes for mankind. If World War III broke out, it would probably eradicate all races of humanity from earth. The prevalent political world situation inclined toward the possible outbreak of World War III. It showed the fact that men were unable to achieve world peace through military-cum-political supremacy nor economic wealth. But peace would materialize through united religious forces of the whole world to prevent the outbreak of World War III. By inviting religious, political and peace leaders to attend the World Eternal Peace Conference in the atmosphere of the Religious Land, they would cooperate to seek solutions to the world problems. Dr. Suchart firmly believed that only through religious power could the outbreak of World War III be prevented. With this opinion, he carried out the work for the inter-religious brotherhood.
Dr. Suchart was a Thai citizen who never studied English nor could he speak English. While traveling to do work which must use English, he had a personal interpreter. He fashioned a belief that:
“This work does not depend on languages but on ideas and action. Everyone can learn several languages but not everyone can learn ideas.”
Eventhough in the NGO Conference of the United Nations, he was cordially invited to speak and he spoke in the Thai language.
He had firm determination to work for peace and had courage to travel for disseminating his ideas. When some had doubts and asked questions, he would explain with reasons and gave clear answers to them.
He organized Religious Missions for Peace and traveled to meet with prominent leaders to propose ideas and principles of works for the cause of world peace.
From 1966-1976, he traveled to many provinces and countries with the purpose of promoting inter-religious brotherhood, pilgrimage and bringing holy objects, such as, holy soils, Holy Relics of Lord Buddha from different countries and also from Thailand to be enshrined in the Image of the Would-Be Buddha Phra Sri Ariya Maitreya, the Peace Pagoda, the Statue of King Rama I, the World Eternal Peace Conference Hall for the cause of true peace in the Suvarnabhumi Peninsula (South East Asia Region) and in the world. These trips were as follows:
In 1966
In April 1966, he travelled to Chiang Mai Province in Thailand to bring holy soils from the Nim Pagoda, the Tab-Tao cave, the Chiang-Dao cave and the Rishi cave.
In 1967
In March 1967, he travelled to Pattani Province to bring holy soils from the Sai Khao Waterfall, Wat Changhai and holy soils from the Buddhabhumi cemetery and the Kuhabhimuk Grottoes in Yala Province.
In August 1967, he travelled to Phuket Province to bring holy soils and sands from Kaew Pisadarn Island. 36
In 1968
In April 1968, he travelled to Laos to bring holy soils from the ancient pagoda and temple at Huay Sai District.
From Laos, he continued to travel to Burma to bring holy soils from an ancient monastery in Saad.
In August 1968, he travelled to Malaysia to bring holy soils from a cave in ancient temple in Ipoh.
After returning from Malaysia he travelled to Cambodia to bring holy soils from a temple and from a jungle in Poi Pet District.
In 1969
On December 29th-31st, 1969, he travelled to South Vietnam to bring holy soils from the Sunterther Mountain.
In 1970
On March 8th-14th, 1970, he travelled to Indonesia to bring holy soils from five temples in Jakarta.
In 1972
Between October 24th to November 7th, 1972, he travelled to India to bring holy soils from the holy places of Buddhism at Buddha Gaya, Vesali in Patna (Bihar State), at Saranath in Benares and at the Nirvana Stupa in Kusinagara (Uttarapradesa State).
On November 8th-20th, 1972, he traveled to Nepal to bring holy soils from the birth place of Lord Buddha in Lumbini.
In 1976
On September 2nd-6th, 1976, he led Dhamma Mission to Sri Lanka to bring the Holy Relics of Lord Buddha which were presented by His Holiness the Most Venerable Sirimalwatte Ananda Maha Nayake Thero, the Supreme Patriarch of Siam Buddhist Sect. He also met H.E. William Gopalava, President of Sri Lanka for strengthening better understanding and exchanging view.
From 1977 to 1981, he organized 11 Religious Missions for Peace going around the world as follows
In 1977
On May 9th-17th, 1977, the First Religious Mission for Peace went to Italy and Israel to promote inter-religious brotherhood with the leaders of Christianity and Islam.
- Being in audience with H.H. Pope Paul VI at the Vatican City.
- Meeting with His Eminence Sa’Dd-Eddin El-Alami, Mufti of Islam and His Eminence James Joseph Beltritti, Patriarch of Christianity in Jerusalem.
On this occasion, his mission was given Christian holy objects to be enshrined in the 9-metre High Standing Statue of Lord Jesus Christ constructed at the Religious Land.
On November 18th-26th, 1977, the Second Religious Mission for Peace was sent to India, the homeland of Buddhism and of other major religions of the world.
The works done were as follows:
- Strengthening inter-religious brotherhood with the leaders of Namdhari Sikhism.
- Be in audience with H.H. Sri Satguru Jagjit Singh Ji Maharaj, the Supreme Spiritual Leader of Namdhari Sikhs at Punjab, India, and meeting with H.E. Morarji Desai, Prime Minister of India and Hindu leader.
- Attending the XXIV International Conference of the World Vegetarian Congress in New Delhi.
In 1978
Between November 18th-December 14th, 1978, the Third Religious Mission for Peace went to European countries and carried out following works:-
- It was granted an audience with H.H. Pope John Paul II at the Vatican City.
- It met with the prominent religious and peace leaders of Poland and participated in a peace dialogue.
In 1979
He directed the peace referendum campaign of peace lovers in Thailand on the topic of “Thai People Want Peace” which Major General Prasit Chuenboon was the campaign leader.
In January, just 9 days after Thailand’s neighbouring country, Cambodia, fell under the Vietnamese troops backed by the Heng Samrin regime, the International Federation of Religions under the direction of Dr.Suchart Kosolkitiwong had mounted a nationwide peace referendum campaign to show to the world that all Thai people were peace lovers, did not engage in any form of aggression or violation of another country’s sovereignty but wanted to remain in friendly relations with all regardless of political differences. The peace referendum was carried out through opinion polling commencing on January 16th, 1979, ending in August, 1980 lasting 1 year and eight months (with some intervals owing to other works). It was noted with satisfactory result that over one million and seven hundred thousand people supported the plan by giving their peace supporting signatures. 39
On June 6th-26th, 1979, the Fourth Religious Mission for Peace travelled to the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics to meet with the peace and religious leaders in order to strengthen inter-religious brotherhood and cooperation. They further went to attend the Fifth Asian Buddhist Conference for Peace held in Ulan-Bator, the Mongolian People’s Republic.
The works done were:
- Meeting with Mr. Alexey S. Diykov, Chief of the South and Southeast Asia Division of the Union of Soviet Societies for Friendship and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries and to strengthen relations between the peoples of two countries for better understanding and world peace.
- Meeting with the Most Ven. Bandido Khambo Lama J. Gomboyev, Abbot of Ivolginsky Buddhist Monastery and the President of the Central Buddhist Board of the USSR in Ulan Ude.
- Meeting with the Most Ven. Khambo Lama S. Gomboyev, President of the Asian Buddhist Conference for Peace (ABCP), Abbot of Gangdanthekchenling Monastery and meeting with H.E. Bishop Alexij, President of the Metropolitan of Tallin and Estonia, Russian Orthodox Church, USSR to bridge inter-religious brotherhood and exchange religious ideas.
On October 9th-22nd, 1979, the Fifth Religious Mission for Peace was sent to
the Republic of China (Taiwan) and Hong Kong for:
- Meeting with H.E. Dr. Han Li-wu, President of Sino-Thai Cultural and Economic Association.
- Meeting with Mr. Lee Shih-Feng, Chairman of World Christian Anti-Communist Association.
- Meeting with H.E.Dr. Ku Cheng-kang, Honorary Chairman of the World Anti- Communist League.
- On the same occasion, paying respect to the Most Rev. Hsing Yun, Abbot of Fo Kuang Shan Monastery who was the Director of the Progress of International
Buddhists Association and Chairman of Religious Committee of Fo Kuang Shan Monastery at Taipei, Taiwan; and paying respect to Rt. Rev. Sick Wai-ming, the Abbot of Po Lin Monastery, Lantao Island, Hong Kong, and receiving the holy soil to be enshrined in the foundation of the 9-metre high Image of Phra Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara (Kuan Yin) to be constructed at the Religious Land Hoopha Sawan.
In 1980
On June 2nd-22nd, 1980, the Sixth Religious Mission for Peace was sent to the People’s Republic of China (Mainland) for:
- Meeting with the Abbot of Wannian Temple (The Ten Thousand Years Temple) on the peak of Emei Shan mountain, and receiving sand, incense sticks’ dust and the holy soil to be enshrined in the base of the Holy Image of Phra Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara (Kuan Yin).
- Meeting with Hon. Zhao Puchu, President of Buddhist Association of China.
- Meeting with the Abbots of Wen Shu Yuan Temple, Lingyun Temple, Wu Long Temple, Kwang Ji Temple, Pa Yuan Temple and the Buddha’s Tooth Relic Temple.
- Meeting with Mr. Xiao Xianfa, Director-General of the Religious Bureau of China and Mr. Ziao Lian Shen, Deputy-Director General of the Religious Bureau of China at the Parliament Building.
- Meeting with H.E. Wu Lanfu, Vice-Chairman of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China and Mr. Wan-Fu, Vice President of China Travel Service at the Parliament Building.
- Meeting with the Abbot of Sixia Temple (the Temple of One Thousand Images of Buddha), Nanjing, and receiving incense sticks’ dust to be put together with dust from other temples at the stone foundation laying ceremony of the Image of Phra Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara (Kuan Yin) at Hooppha Sawan.
- Meeting with the Abbot of You Fe Temple (Jade Buddha Temple), Shanghai, and receiving holy sand.
Between October 31st to November 23rd, 1980, the Seventh Religious Mission for
Peace was sent to the United Nations Headquarters in the U.S.A. to present the result of peace referendum given by peace loving Thai people to the United Nations through H.E. Dr. Rudiger von Wechmar, the President of the UN General Assembly and H.E. Dr. Kurt Waldheim, the UN Secretary-General.
On the same occasion, the Mission had also submitted an application to have the IFR registered as an associate member with the UN Department of Public Information.
Later on May 6th, 1981, the IFR was officially accepted by UN as an organization associated with the United Nations Department of Public Information.
The Mission had made further success in meeting for peace cooperation with the prominent peace and religious leaders of the United States in Washington, D.C. and of those in European countries, namely the Federal Republic of Germany, Hungary and France.
In 1981
Between February 1st-11th, 1981, the Eighth Religious Mission for Peace was invited to attend the Asian Delegates Conference held by the Universal Love and Brotherhood Association in Kyoto, Japan on February 5th-7th, 1981, to seek together with Asian peoples the better solution to the more aggravating problems in the region.
- Meeting with Mr. Yasumi Hirose, President and Mr. Ikuo Harada, Director General of International Relation Department of Zinrui Izenkai Association (Universal Love and Brotherhood Association-ULBA)
- Meeting with Mr. Hajyim Morita, a prominent Senator of Free Democracy Party, son-in-law of the former Prime Minister Ohira Masayoshi at the Parliament House of Japan.
- Meeting with the Lord Mayor of Hiroshima at the Penthouse Building
Between 20th-27th February, 1981, the Ninth Religious Mission for Peace was invited
to attend the 4th Annual Conference of the World Constitution and Parliament Association on February 22nd-24th, 1981 in New Delhi, India. In this historic meeting, Dr.Suchart Kosolkitiwong was officially named the “World Peace Envoy” by the unanimous resolution approved by the meeting on February 24th, 1981.
On the same occasion, the Mission had also met to strengthen peace cooperation with H.E. Mr. M. Hidayatullah, Vice-President of India and H.E. Indira Gandhi, Prime Minister of India to strengthen peace cooperation.
On September 5th-23rd, 1981, the Tenth Religious Mission for Peace was invited by the United Nations to participate in the Annual Conference of the Department of Public Information for NGOs on “the Energy for Development and Survival” at the United Nations Headquarters, New York, USA, to which he was invited to give a key speech on “Energy Conservation and New Lifestyles.”
On this occasion, the Mission led by Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong was given an opportunity to meet with H.E. Dr. Kurt Waldheim, the UN Secretary-General to discuss with him the preliminary preparation by the IFR to hold the World Eternal Peace Conference. Among those US political leaders with whom Dr.Suchart Kosolkitiwong met for peace 43
cooperation included Mr. Morton C. Blackwell, Special Assistant to President Ronald Reagan and Mr. Philip Hughs, Special Assistant to Vice-President George Bush at the Old Executive Building, adjacent to the White House, Washington, D.C., USA on September 17th, 1981.
On November 6th-25th, 1981, the Eleventh Religious Mission for Peace was invited to attend the general meeting of the Asian Conference on Religion and Peace II (ACRP) held in New Delhi on November 7th-11th, 1981, and also to participate in the World Conference on Religion and Peace (WCRP) meeting held in New Delhi, India. Besides, the Mission had also met to strengthen peace cooperation with H.E. Giani Zail Singh, Minister of Interior Affairs who was later the President of India from 1986-1989.
On this occasion, the Mission had promoted better understanding and cooperation among the religious and peace leaders who came from around the world to attend the meeting. Among those ACRP and WCRP leaders with whom Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong met for peace cooperation included the Most Rev. Nikkyo Niwano, President of the Rissho Kosei-kai and President of ACRP and Dr. Homer A. Jack, Secretary-General of WCRP. The Mission assured them of its earnest cooperation at the World Eternal Peace Conference proposed to be held in 1982 at the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan, the Headquarters of International Federation of Religions.
THE WORLD PEACE ENVOY’S PROPOSED IDEAS OF USING PEACEFUL MEANS TO ATTAIN MANKIND’S AND WORLD’S PEACE AND HAPPINESS
1975-1991
- February 25th, 1975, the World Peace Envoy, Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong wrote a personal letter to the H.E..Dr. Henry Kissinger, Secretary of State of the U.S.A., expressing his peace ideas:
“… I have been somewhat puzzled by the stand taken by humankind of this world, both the Free Democracy and Communist Bloc, in that their hearts and their lips speak differently when they chant about peace… I really cannot understand it, and, therefore, decided to write you this message to enquire whether you gentlemen are really talking about true peace or you are just merely lying to the people the world over.”
Dr. Suchart expressed his doubt about the endeavour for peace of the Superpower countries. At that time there was a report that the US Secretary of State had close relationship with Prime Minister Chou En-Lai of the People’s Republic of China after the 44
former’s several visits to China. It was also reported that in the plenary session of the Chinese Communist Party Congress, Prime Minister Chou En-lai criticized in strongest terms the peace policy of the US Secretary of State. In the same letter, Dr.Suchart forwarded his idea for peace as follows:
“… We, on our part, are doing everthing possible to build the religious brotherhood of all faiths. I have also come to a firm conclusion that peace can only come about after all contending parties have reached a common conviction that peace can only be secured by the vibration of the mind and not merely by word power of the lips.
I have, therefore, felt that time has now come for all of us to use religion as the instrument for peace, so that we can stop once and for all this wanton destruction of human lives…
… A permanent peace for this human world could materialize only when leaders of both contending camps can speak sincerely from their hearts. If both parties can really come, we should organize a big ceremony for true peace by issuing communique arma-ments so that they could be smelted down into the statues and images of all prophets and gods. For peace can never endure when all parties are still piling up their arms. The seed of wrath, of illusion and of greed, whenever it springs up, can turn man all of a sudden into a killer.
Once, a trained mind can penetrate and absorb the bliss of Dharma, such mental phenomena could generate the power that will overcome all obstacles to the mighty power of real and everlasting peace…”
- On January 16th, 1975, Dr. Suchart wrote to H.E. Leonid Brezhnev, Chairman of Supreme Presidium of the USSR, a personal letter presenting his views on peace:
“… True peace will only emerge in this world through the search for means to end conflicts in the ways of life of our human society. I consider, therefore, that the course of action inspired by Communist doctrines cannot produce real peace. On the contrary, it will divide the world into blocs and factions. It cannot consolidate the world into one harmonious society…
… If peace is truly your ultimate goal, one thing that we should strive to accomplish is to explore the solution to current conflicts, so that a firm pedestal for world peace could be built. Such means cannot be found in any medium but inside the human mind, from which the forces of righteousness, morality and contentment could spring forth and make wonders. 45
I am firmly convinced that ever since this world was opened up for human habitation, the means to produce peace rests hither in the man’s mind as characterized by his conviction on morals, honesty and faith in religion. Such are the forces that produce real and everlasting peace…
… Alas, it is only too rare to find someone courageous enough to stand up amidst this maniacal world and rally for the means to end contemporary conflicts and schisms. I now take this first step out to solicit your cooperation for the building up of brotherhood of mankind and fraternity of religions…”
- On March 24th, 1975, he wrote to H.E. Chou En-Lai inviting him to visit Thailand as a senior statesman and proposed to help to cure his sickness resulting from his past action and the revenge of spirits.
- On January 21st, 1978, he sent a personal letter to H.E. Indira Gandhi, Prime Minister of India, giving her encouragement after her election defeat and telling her to prepare for a return to the Prime Ministership again.
- On May 29th, 1980 he sent a personal letter to H.E. Indira Gandhi, Prime Minister of India, congratulating her on her return to the highest political power as Prime Minister of India for another period.
- September 29th, 1980, writing to H.E. Indira Gandhi, Prime Minister of India expres-sing his condolences on the passing away of her son, Mr. Sanjaya Gandhi.
- On March 4th, 1981 writing to H.E. Indira Gandhi, Prime Minister of India thanking her for giving an opportunity to the Religious Mission for Peace to pay her a courtsey call on February 27th, 1981.
- November 18th, 1979, he wrote to His Eminence Ayatollah Khomeini, Leader of Islamic Revolution of Iran asking him to stop his personal revenge against H.I.M. Shah of Iran to prevent Iran from disaster.
- November 25th, 1979, he sent a personal letter to H.I.M. Shahanshah Aryamehr Mohammad Reza Pahlavi of Iran telling him about the result of His past action which led to the present and asking Him to be aware of a possible assassination and suggesting that He take a political asylum.
- April 24th, 1979, he wrote to H.E. Anwar El Sadat, the President of Egypt, congratulating him on signing a peace treaty with Israel at Camp David.
- November 25th, 1979, writing to H.E. Anwar El Sadat, the President of Egypt asking him to re-consider about the plan to let the Shah of Iran take asylum in Egypt which would 46
give a cause for the Palestinian Liberation Organization to violently disrupt the signing ceremony of the Egypt-Israel’s Peace Treaty.
- On December 19th, 1974, he wrote to the national leaders of world of Christianity asking for cooperation in creating inter-religious brotherhood to protect the survival of humanity from world leaders who conspired plots to govern the world without thinking of any faith or belief.
- On December 10th, 1974, he sent a letter to H.H. Pope John Paul II of the Vatican City, Italy, asking for His cooperation for the Christianity - Buddhism religious brotherhood for true peace.
- On November 11th, 1976 he wrote to Mr. Jimmy Carter, President (elected) of the U.S.A. congratulating him on his presidencial election victory
- On July 1st, 1977, writing to H.E. Jimmy Carter, President of the U.S.A. asking for his cooperation in the preparation for the World Eternal Peace Conference.
- On April 24th, 1979, writing to H.E. Jimmy Carter, President of the U.S.A. inviting him to visit Thailand and the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan, for promoting world peace.
- On December 14th, 1979, writing to H.E. Jimmy Carter, President of the U.S.A. proposing the correct strategy to prolong lives of American hostages taken in Iran.
- January 21st, 1980, writing to H.E. Jimmy Carter, President of the U.S.A., expressing regrets for his defeat in the election and inviting him to be an Honorary Advisor of the IFR to benefit humanity.
- January 21st, 1980, he wrote to H.E. Ronald Reagan, President of the U.S.A., congratulating him on winning the presidencial election, suggesting to him to run his administration and foreign policies with care, to address the root cause of the potential problems both in the military, economic and political aspects, for real and long lasting peace.
- On January 16th, 1975, he sent a letter to H.E. Dr. Kurt Waldheim, UN Secretary General proposing ways to use religions as the main instrument to probe the mind of humanity for everlasting peace.
- On February 26th, 1979, writing to H.E. Dr. Kurt Waldheim, UN Secretary General reporting to him about peace Referendum of Thai people on “Thai People Want Peace” to be presented to the United Nations.
- On May 26th, 1979, writing to H.E. Dr. Kurt Waldheim, UN Secretary General thanking him on allowing the Religious Mission for Peace to pay a private courtesy call at 47
the Erawan Hotel, Bangkok on May 14th, 1979 on his travel to inspect at the situation in Thailand himself and reporting to him the progress of IFR’s work.
- On October 3rd, 1979, writing to H.E. Dr. Kurt Waldheim, UN Secretary General proposing his ideas in the evaluation of fighting in Kampuchea. He proposed for the UN to keep the Kampuchean seat vacant until it became clear which side won an absolute victory. The UN should evaluate political situations and roles of China and Russia in Vietnam, the events in the Indochinese Peninsula and should send intelligence personnel to monitor and observe the actual situation.
- On November 25th, 1979, writing to H.E. Dr. Kurt Waldheim, UN Secretary General expresssing his ideas on the world situation when Iranian students took US officials in the US Embassy in Teheran as hostages.
- On July 28th, 1980, writing to H.E. Dr. Kurt Waldheim, UN Secretary General expressing his opinions on turning the Indochinese area into a zone of peace by urging representatives of the General Assembly to withdraw their recognition of Pol Pot’s regime and refuse to recognize the Heng Samrin regime in order to mount the pressure on Vietnam to withdraw their troops from Kampuchea so that the Kampucheans could determine their own political future and set up the government of their own choice under the UN supervision. He also reported the progress of the campaign for a referendum on peace in Thailand to the Secretary General.
- On March 4th, 1981, writing to H.E. Dr. Kurt Waldheim, UN Secretary General proposing for the UN to declare officially the year of 1982 as the Year of World Peace for more harmonious and peaceful human co-existence. The UN answered to accept it for consideration. In December 1981, the UN announced the International Peace Day – the third Tuesday of September of every year – the World Peace Day.
Later in 1986, the UN announced the year 1986 as the International Year of Peace.
- On September 18th, 1990, he sent a letter to H.E. Saddam Hussein, President of
Iraq addressing about his holding of US diplomatic personnel as hostages and his invasion of Kuwait. It was a violation of international diplomatic conduct. He proposed to President Saddam to release all diplomatic personnel and all hostages, to enter a peace talk with all concerned which would allow all Superpowers to lift the blockade and withdraw all their military forces from blocking the Persian Gulf.
- On November 27th, 1990, he wrote to H.E. Saddam Hussein, Iraqi President,
proposing ways to withdraw from Kuwait without losing face for the survival of Iraqi people and peace of Iraq. - On November 27th, 1990, he sent a letter to H.E. Hosni Mubarak, President of the
Republic of Egypt, expressing his support for the idea of asking President George Bush, Sr. of the USA to postpone a military attack for 3 months to solve problems in the Persian Gulf to prevent loss of life and properties.
- On November 27th, 1990, Dr. Suchart wrote to H.E. Mikhail Gorbachev,
Presiden of the USSR congratulating him for his use of clear conscience in his undertakings to solve critical internal problems of the country, and also for his dealing with the situation in the Persian Gulf by peaceful means for the peace of all world humanity.
- On November 27th, 1990, he sent a letter to H.E. George Bush,Sr., the US President
proposing peaceful means for the solution to ease the Persian Gulf’s situation.
- On November 27th,1990, he wrote to H.E. Yasushi Akashi, UN Under Secretary
General for Disarmament Affairs proposing means to solve problems in the Persian Gulf by peaceful means.
- On November 30th, 1990, he sent a letter to H.E. Yasushi Akashi, UN Under
Secretary General for Disarmament Affairs, proposing ideas to support the UN to fulfil its campaign for the world environmental preservation by implanting in human’s mind the care for the environment, producing tape cassettes of songs about environment protection, and making posters with slogans to preserve environment to be distributed in Thailand and sending them to various environmental conservation organizations worldwide.
- On September 19th, 1990, he wrote to H.E. Mr. Javier Perez de Cuellar, UN
Secretary General, proposing peaceful means to stop the troubles in the Persian Gulf and to restore peace.
- On November 30th, 1990, he sent a letter to H.E. Mr. Javier Perez de Cuellar, UN
Secretary General proposing ideas in solving environmental problems and toxic pollution to better preserve the environment. 49
PREPARATION FOR HOLDING
THE WORLD ETERNAL PEACE CONFERENCE
PEACE CONFERENCE
The prime concept to hold the World Eternal Peace Conference was due to the fact that world leaders in the past had failed to achieve true everlasting peace through political, economic or military means and Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong considered that only religions would play major role in bringing about true peace for mankind.
Realizing the exactness of this concept, the World Peace Envoy Dr. Suchart Kosol-kitiwong then proposed it to worldwide religious and peace leaders including political leaders of different countries of both Free Democratic and Communist Blocs to attend the conference.
Step by step, Dr. Suchart led the preparation for the Project of Holding the World Eternal Peace Conference as follows:
1. Campaigning for Peace Referendum of Thai People
The International Federation of Religions (IFR) campaigned for referendum of peace-loving Thai people nationwide from 1979-1980. Later on November 5, 1980 Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong, President of the IFR had presented to H.E. Dr. Kurt Waldheim, the UN Secretary-General, the Peace Referendum Record together with samples of one million signatures given by 90 per cent of peace-loving Thai people at the UN Headquarters, New York, the U.S.A.
2. Receiving Holy Soils from Various Countries
He asked for holy soils from one important place of the respected country. This soil could be from: 1. the Parliament Building, 2. the Government House, 3. the temple, 4. the church or the mosque which was considered most sacred, or the official residence of leaders of the non-religious countries. All soil collected would be contained in the foundation stone of the conference hall. From 1977-1981, he sent out official letters to the foreign Embassies in Thailand and to the Thai Embassies in foreign countries fof this purpose. He then sent a team to receive the holy soil from the embassies in Thailand.
Some countries sent representatives to offer it at the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan. 85 countries participated in this project.
3. Construction of the World Eternal Peace Conference Hall at the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan
On October 19th, 1978, the Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony of the World Eternal Peace Conference Hall was held with the participation of the representatives of 5 major religions including diplomatic corps members from 19 countries with good relation with Thailand, namely the United States of America, the United Kingdom, the Union Soviet Socialist Republics and so on. In addition, more than ten thousand general and prominent people attended the function. In this ceremony diplomatic corps members from nineteen countries including from Thailand were represented to place the Holy Soils, presented by their countries, at the Foundation Stone base of the Peace Conference Hall. The Holy Soils placed at the Foundation Stone Base were presented by 85 various countries worldwide.
Later on January 19th, 1981, the actual construction of the Peace Hall commenced with major financial support from public donations and was due to be completed in time for the World Eternal Peace Conference scheduled for 1982.
4. Forming Committees to Prepare for the Peace Conference
Committee members were both Thais and foreigners. The committees were:
- The General Conference Organizing Committee
- The Honorary Advisory Committee
- The Advisory Committee
- The Preparation Committee the Peace Conference
5. Making a Project in Brief and Topics for the Peace Conference
In May 1981 he sent the project in brief for the World Eternal Peace Conference
together with a questionnaire to the religious, peace and state leaders soliciting their ideas and seeking their support to attend the conference.
The proposed main topics to be discussed at the conference included:
1. Why were men born? For what purpose does our life exist? Where shall we go after death?
2. How will the religious force play a major and effective role in preventing World War III? How can it bring peace to the world?
3. Consideration to ratify principles of World Constitution for the establishment of Provisional World Parliament and World Government in the future.
4. Consideration to ratify the usage of world common language.
5. Consideration to declare the Indo-Chinese Peninsula as a zone of independence, neutrality and peace, to ease the tension and to prevent the cause of World War III, leading to a better and peaceful living of the Indo-Chinese people.
6. Ratification to guarantee the independence and neutrality of Thailand.
7. Ratification of the status of the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan as “the Centre of Peace Promotion” which shall not be violated by anyone.
8. Consideration the use of the world’s single currency.
9. Consideration to reduce or destroy war arms of every kind especially those weapons of mass destruction. (W.M.D.).
10. Consideration of fundamental human rights.
11. Consideration of food consumption which should be nutritious to human beings, both physically and mentally.
12. Consideration of righteous conduct for one’s self so that one can attain his/her physical and mental health with high morality.
6. Participation
To have worldwide participation, an official invitation had been extended to the political, religious and peace leaders around the world. It was interesting to note that more than 200 prominent world figures acknowledged the receipt of this invitation to attend this historic conference even though the actual date for the conference had not yet been fixed.
7. Fixing the Date for the World Eternal Peace Conference
In October 1981, after attending an NGO meeting of the UN Department of Information Affairs as the IFR was an associated body with the United Nations, he discussed with the United Nations on the suitable date of the World Eternal Peace Conference. The date for the Peace Conference was then fixed for September 5th-12th, 1982 at the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan, Ratchaburi Province, Thailand.
8. Asking for a Message to read on the First day of the Peace Conference
Request was sent out for messages from some prominent world and religious
Leaders to be read at the Conference Opening Ceremony and to be printed in the commemorative books to be distributed on the day of the conference. The request was well accepted and many messages received. The World Peace Envoy viewed that Thailand had a suitable geographical area, not very large and not very small, with a ruler who was a patron of all religions, with good culture and tradition and people that can freely choose their faith. If the peace conference could be organized, a proposal would be submitted to the conference to adopt a resolution setting up “the Centre of the World Religions,” “the Centre of the World Cultures” and “the Centre of the World Peace” at the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan. Thailand would be well known the world over for its peace promoting initiatives.
However, when the IFR and the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan faced with troubles in 1982, the World Peace Envoy wrote to political, religious and peace leaders worldwide reporting on the unability to hold the Peace Conference as planned.
SCOPE AND QUANTITY OF WORKS
Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong was responsible for many broad scopes of work. He had to perform according to the objectives of Samnak Poo Sawan and launched works of the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan ranging from resisting those 7 influential companies against their rock-blasting activities at the Tham Phra mountain range (Khao Suae Mohb), a protected archaeological site in Ratchaburi Province, to daily administering, supervising and being responsible for the construction of buildings as well as objects of worship, directing works of morality training for youths and people, directing works of the protection of independence of Thailand, propagating concepts in working for world peace, working on promoting the inter-religious brotherhood, administering works of the Jinnapooto Memorial Foundation and the International Federation of Religions, and initiating work of the Vegetarian Centre of Thailand, etc.
The urgent and continual work was the work in the capacity of the Peace Envoy of the World of Divinity that he must perform such as, leading Religious Missions for Peace abroad in preparation for the World Eternal Peace Conference and strengthening a better understanding and mutual cooperation for world peace with various embassies in Thailand. When details of his organizing plan for the World Eternal Peace Conference was spread out abroad, many prominent people – individuals and parties, came to meet and exchange peace views with him at the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan. He had to provide reception for those important guests. When he returned from abroad, he then organized the Exhibitions of the Religious Mission’s Works for public relations. There were other works for him: private companies invited him to serve as their advisor; he was invited to lecture and give interviews on various occasions; and invited to perform the ceremony of ridding of black magic spell as a public service, etc.
In private, Dr. Suchart personally had always spent non-working time on purifying his mind and practising meditation which enabled him to work efficiently,and to have tolerance in working for which he was always respected and honoured by those who worked together with him.
It is deemed that Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong had dedicated all his life time for the works of God and works for public benefit. He had no time for entertainment and enjoyment like common people.
With his genius, determination and truth keeping, he had strenuously worked in immense quantities until he was accepted by prominent leaders on the global level who appointed him World Peace Envoy for seven consecutive times before he was appointed as the permanent World Peace Envoy.
It is regrettable that his work to organize the World Eternal Peace Conference had to be halted at the end of the year 1981.
Obstacles
So far, until the beginning of 1986, the plan to hold the conference had not been achieved since the International Federation of Religions (IFR) in association with the United Nations, the host to this proposed historic conference, was ordered closed on December 29th, 1981 by Secretary-General of the National Cultural Committee. It happened when influential and interest groups as well as those who were against Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong tried with all means to disrupt his plan to organize the World Eternal Peace Conference, the event that would contribute to the promotion of world everlasting peace and strengthening more peaceful and harmonious human co-existence.
To seek justice, the Committee of the IFR as well as of the Jinnapooto Memorial Foundation had filed a suit to the court against the National Cultural Committee on July 24th, 1989. The Supreme Court of Justice’s decision was against the Jinnapooto Memorial Foundation and its properties forfeited. The case ended on the ground that the Committee of the IFR had no right to file the law suit in this case. The World Peace Envoy who was the Chairman of the Foundation decided not to take further legal action because it would take 10 years of legal battle which would be an obstacle for his work. In 1986, the United Nations announced the year as the International Year of Peace. In that year, the World Peace Envoy who took an asylum for four years and six months came out to fight his 6 personal legal cases. On July 18th 1991 the Supreme Court of Justice decided to drop every case against him. He was then proved innocent after 10 years of being accused of wrong doings.
Even facing this great difficulty, the World Peace Envoy, Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong did not give up his strong intention to hold the World Eternal Peace Conference since he had already dedicated his life for the cause of peace and for all mankind. When his cases were cleared, he put his peace activities into full swing to be in time before the next looming world war.
Although his peace work was temporary halted and Dr. Suchart had to temporarily live in seclusion, other world organizations whenever they held their conferences with significant topics for humanity, cordially invited him to participate in their conference, for instance:
-The First United Nations Seminar on Disarmament for the Asian and Pacific Region in Bangkok from 19th–22nd January 1982.
-The First Session of the Provisional World Parliament in Brighton, England, from 4th-17th September 1982, the Second Session of the Provisional World Parliament in New Delhi, India from March 15th-29th, 1985 and the Meeting of the Executive Committee of the World Constitution and Parliament Association in Lakewood, Colorado, U.S.A. from June 27th-30th, 1986.
-The Fourth World Assembly of the World Conference on Religion and Peace in Nairobi, Kenya from August 23rd-31st, 1984.
-The World Affairs Conference at the University of Colorado in Boulder, U.S.A. from 6th to 12th April 1986.
-The Inter-Religious Conference of the Council for the World’s Religions in Bad Nauheim, West Germany from August 13th-18th, 1986.
-The seminars of University degli Studi di Roma at San Miniato, Italy from August 20th-30th, 1986.
And so on.
From 1986-1991, while the cases were being processed in the Court of Justice, the World Peace Envoy started working again by attending international meetings with the invitations from various religious and peace associations.
PROMINENT ACTIVITIES OF THE WORLD PEACE ENVOY
In 1985-1990, the Office of the World Peace Envoy sent the following information to be published in Thai newspapers: translated foreign news on peace, disarmament, the activities at Samnak Poo Sawan that were reported to the United Nations and also translated documents about peace, disarmament and other interesting news received from the United Nations or other organizations. It also reported such activities to the UN Department on Disarmament Affairs.
From 1986-1991, Dr. Suchart was invited by various leaders and organizations of religion and peace organizations in Thailand to attend many religious and peace ceremonies.
From 1987-1991, Dr. Suchart was invited to give special Dhamma lectures on the 19th of every month at Samnak Poo Sawan, Bangkok and at the Peace Pagoda at the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan, Ratchaburi Province.
The United Nations declared September 16th-21th, 1986, to be the International Week of Peace. The World Peace Envoy sent his circular message on this occasion to leaders in Thailand and abroad.
December 1st, 1986, the World Peace Envoy was invited to attend the Opening Ceremony of the Exhibition of “1986 the International Year of Peace” held at Ramkamhaeng University, Bangkok and was also invited to give a special lecture on, “The Youth are the Future Hope of Peace.” This lecture was later translated and reported to the United Nations.
January 23rd-February 2nd, 1987, he led the Twelfth Religious Mission for Peace to attend the 60th Diamond Jubilee Anniversary of Missionary Work of the Most Rev. Toshio Miyake, Senior Minister of Konko Church of Izuo, Osaka, Japan.
April 19th-29th, 1987, the Thirteenth Religious Mission for Peace to Colombo, Sri Lanka was invited to attend the 8th Year Anniversary Celebration of the Universal Love and Brotherhood Association, Sri Lanka Branch, and to joinly seek peaceful means to cease the civil war of Sri Lanka where the Tamil Tiger rebels were fighting against the Singalese.
More important functions he carried out in Sri Lanka were: meeting with H.E. Mr. Barkeer Markel, Cabinet Minister and former House Speaker of Sri Lanka, H.E. Mr. E.L.B. Hurulle, Minister of Culture of Sri Lanka, and H.E. E.A.D. Athukorale, Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka. He met with Muslim leaders of Sri Lanka , paid respect to the Holy Tooth Relics, Sri Dalada, Maligawa, Kandy, and paid a visit to H.H. Mahapundit Sirimalwatte Ananda Maha Nayake Thero, Patriarch of Siam Buddhist Sect at Malwatu Maha Viharaya in Kandy etc.
June 16th-July 12th, 1987, the Fourteenth Religious Mission for Peace was invited to attend the 3rd Session of the Provisional World Parliament of the World Constitution and Parliament Association at Miami Beach, Florida, U.S.A. from June 18th-28th, 1987. The World Peace Envoy was unanimously voted by the meeting to be “World Peace Envoy” for the fifth time and was nominated Chairman of the Disarmament Committee of the Provisional World Parliament and at the same occasion, Mr.Prem Chand Malhotra, Secre-tary-General of Gandhian Study Centre read the citation and presented him the Gandhi Medal.
Moreover, he visited the hermitage of H.H. Swami Jayotir Maya Nanda, President of the Yoga Research Foundation in Miami, and one of H.H. Sri Gurudev Swami Satchidananda, Founder President of Integral Yoga International, Yogaville, Virginia. He also met with Dr. B.B. Beach, General Secretary of the Council on Interfaith Relations of Seven-day Adventists in Washington, D.C.
There was a meeting to discuss with Mrs.Hanne Mastrand Strong and Dr. Maurice F. Strong, former Under Secretary-General of the United Nations and the Canadian tycoon at Baca Grande Ranch, Crestone, Colorado, U.S.A. He went to see the land to construct the religious land at Baca Grande Ranch, South of Colorado.
On September 12th, 1987, the World Peace Envoy (as Chairman of the Disarmament Committee of the Provisional World Government) sent out a circular letter to the world, religious and peace leaders as well as foreign ambassadors to Thailand addressing them on the subject of disarmament for the world’s lasting peace. Attached to the letter was a pamphlet of “The Last Hope of Humankind,” providing guidelines toward peace. He also attached Rules of the Provisional World Government for them to consider putting those rules in the constitution of individual country. He further suggested to them to destroy all weapons of mass destruction and seek ways to convene the Peace Conference by religious forces for world eternal peace. The result was satisfactory and the proposed ideas were generally accepted by many.
Later on December 8th, 1987, newspapers and the mass media worldwide reported that President Ronald Reagan of the U.S.A. and President Mikhail Gorbachev of the USSR jointly signed an agreement on the destruction of medium range land-to-air nuclear ballistic missiles in Europe. From October 22nd-November 18th, 1987, the Fifteenth Religious Mission for Peace was invited to attend the Conference on World Security and World Order organized by the World Federal Authority Committee at Ouxtepec, Mexico and the World Peace Envoy was nominated in the meeting to be a member of the “Coordinating Committee of the Asia-Pacific Region.” The Mission’s main tasks were as follows:
-Attending the Opening Ceremony of the Thai Buddhist Sunday School of Wat Thai, Los Angeles.
-Paying a courtesy visit to H.E. Yasushi Akashi, UN Under Secretary-General for Disarmament Affairs.
-Meeting with Dr. William P. Thompson. Associate Secretary General, World Conference on Religion and Peace (WCRP) who replaced Dr. Homer A. Jack at the WCRP’s headquarters in the UN Plaza Building.
-Attending on November 7th 1987, the special academic convocation at Central Presbyterian Church, Montclair, New Jersey, where the World Peace Envoy, Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong was awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree on Human Letters from Prof. James. E. Wilson, Rector of John Dewey University Consortium of America under the sponsorship of International Association of University Presidents.
-Meeting with Mr. Philip Isely, Secretary-General of the World Constitution and Parliament Association, Colorado, and having a contact with the Society of Prayer for World Peace of Japan in New York.
From May 31st-June 25th, 1988, the Sixteenth Religious Mission for Peace attended the 3rd Special UN General Assembly on Disarmament at the UN Headquarters, New York, U.S.A. He met with officials of NGOs Liaison Officer of the Department of Disarmament Affairs at the UN Headquarters. He also had a consultative meeting with the Secretary-General of WCPA and discussed about the preparation of the General Assembly of the World Government in 1990.
On the same occasion, the World Peace Envoy and the committee had registered with local authorities the establishment of the Thai Theravada Foundation in Colorado, U.S.A. But he could not start working for the said foundation because in 1991 he experienced his downfall for the second time.
In November 5th-16th, 1988 he led the Seventeenth Religious Mission for Peace to India, attending the International Conference for the Future of Humanity at Bhupanneswar, Orissa State and attending the 15th Conference on International Human Unity in New Delhi. December 19th, 1988, Prof. Dr. Phil Lane, Jr., lecturer of the Education Faculty of Lethbridge University, Canada visited the World Peace Envoy at Samnak Poo Sawan and also went to the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan.
December 28th, 1988, Prof. Dr. Phil Lane, Jr. from Lethbridge University, Canada and Dr. Homer A. Jack, Secretary-General of the World Conference on Religion and Peace, U.S.A. visited Dr. Suchart at Samnak Poo Sawan and visited the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan.
January 20th-February 9th, 1989, the Eighteenth Religious Mission for Peace was invited to attend the 5th General Assembly of the World Conference of Religion and Peace at Melbourne, Australia and visited the shrines and important temples in central Java, Indonesia and Singapore.
February 22nd, 1989, Dr. T.P. Amerasinghe, Attorney-General of Sri Lanka and Vice Executive President of WCPA visited the World Peace Envoy at the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan.
September 24th, 1989, Professor Dr. Phil Lane, Jr., from Lethbridge University, Canada visited the World Peace Envoy at Samnak Poo Sawan.
July 21st-27th, 1989, the Nineteenth Religious Mission for Peace was invited by Prof. Dr. Guiseppe Ambrosini to visit Diandra University in Rome, Italy, and the World Peace Envoy received the Legion of Honour Medal.
November 17th-27th, 1989, the Twentieth Religious Mission for Peace was invited to attend the World Conference of the World Federalist Movement and Asian Youth Centre, Sri Lanka Branch.
November 21st,1990, the World Peace Envoy sent circular letters to the campaign workers for world environment protection together with tape cassettes of songs on the preservation of world environment. The World Peace Envoy said to many foreigners whom he met that, “Humanity has no more than 20 years left to preserve the environment or else there may be great floods.”
For campaigning for environmental preservation in Thailand, the World Peace Envoy give mottos, ideas and various suggestions, some of which were printed on bumper stickers of vehicles and in big billboards along the roadside.
Later the United Nations held the World Summit Conference on the Environment and Development at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from June 1st-12th, 1992 at which Dr. Maurice F. Strong was the Secretary-General of the conference. The governments of 153 countries gave their signatures to acknowledge practical rules to preserve the world environment. This conference was a turning point of human societies. It was the beginning of the steps taken to restore the world’s life heritage.
August 14th - September 10th, 1990, the Twenty-first Religious Mission for Peace attended the World Religious Assembly in the U.S.A., visited Lethbridge University and different tribes of Red Indians in Canada, and also attended the UN Disarmament meeting in Geneva, Switzerland.
October 8th- December 1991, the World Peace Envoy went on a pilgrimage to India, Nepal and Tibet. It was his last journey.
The World Peace Envoy paid homage to the Four Holy Places of Buddhism three times:
1. In 1971 to bring back holy soils.
2. In 1981 to attend a conference.
3. In 1991 to do a pilgrimage.
From 1993-2004 the World Peace Envoy, Ven. Ariyawanso Bhikkhu (Dr. Suchart),
was invited to perform Buddhist rites and preach at the Ariyasaj Si Building, Samnak Poo Sawan Fellows’ Society, Bangkok on the 19th of every month and on special occasions of Buddhism and important days of the Great Masters of Samnak Poo Sawan.
On May 8th, 1994, H.H. Sri Satguru Jagjit Singh Ji Maharaj, the Supreme Spiritual Leader of Namdhari Sikh came to preside over the Nameboard Opening Ceremony of Jay Jay Vegetarian Restaurant in Bangkok. Associate Professor Dr. Phichai Tovivich was the Organizing Chairman. H.H. the Supreme Spiritual Leader met with Ven. Ariyawanso Bhikkhu at the Ariyasaj Si Building, Bangkok.
On October 30th, 1994, His Eminence Bir Singh Ji Maharaj, the Heir Brother of H.H. Sri Satguru Jagjit Singh Ji Maharaj, Supreme Spiritual Leader of Namdhari Sikh visited Ven. Ariyawanso Bhikkhu at Ariyasaj Si Building. Samnak Poo Sawan Fellows’ Society, Bangkok.
On November 10th, 2003, Dr. T.P. Amerasinghe, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the 6th Session of the Provisional World Parliament to be held in Thailand came to request Ven. Ariyawanso Bhikkhu to be a co-organizer of the session. He informed that he would come to join the 60th Birthday Anniversary Celebration of Ven. Ariyawanso Bhikkhu at the Kuan Yin Inter-religious Park, Petchaburi Province.
On July 11th, 2004, Prof. Dr. Phil Lane, Jr., the International Co-ordinator of the Four Worlds International Institute for Human and Community Development in Canada, visited Ven. Ariyawanso Bhikkhu and organized the Red Indian’s praying tradition ceremony to wish happiness to Ven. Ariyawanso Bhikkhu at the Kuan Yin Inter-religious Park, Petchaburi Province.
THE SECOND DOWNFALL
On March 28th, 1991, the Committee was preparing the Casting Ceremony for the Images of the Five Forgotten Goddesses (Mother Earth, Mother River, Mother Rice Grain, Mother Fire, and Mother Wind) to lessen the effects of draught in Thailand at the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan, Ratchaburi Province. But they had to postpone the ceremony because the state officials forbade them from organizing the function and used their unjust order to evict monks, nuns and followers who looked after the premise from the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan within 2 hours. This action stopped the work for humanity and world peace for the second time.
On March 31st, 1991, the followers of Samnak Poo Sawan organized the Casting Ceremony of the Five Forgotten Goddesses at the casting factory in Bangkok to make a vow for the cause of peace and happiness in Thailand and in the world. The Chairman of the Casting Ceremony was the World Peace Envoy, Dr.Suchart Kosolkitiwong. Foreign distinguished guests included Dr. Reinhart Ruge, President of WCPA from Mexico, Dr. Edward C. Yang, Rector of John Dewey Consortium University of the U.S.A. and Dr. T.P. Amerasinghe, President of ULBA from Sri Lanka.
On July 18th, 1991, at the District Court of Justice of Ratchaburi, the Judge of the Court read the decision of the Supreme Court to declare the World Peace Envoy innocent in the last legal case against him. He was therefore innocent of all charges.
Later, on December 28th, 1991, the anniversary of King Tak Sin the Great’s Crowning by Conquest, the World Peace Envoy, Dr. Suchart, ordained as a Buddhist monk to dedicate the merit to H.M. Queen Sirikit on Her 60th Birthday Anniversary Celebration. This was to honor his vow made at the age of 22 before working for the Great Masters that after he served humanity and the society until he became 50 years old, he would ordain. After the death of his beloved mother, he stopped working for humanity and world peace, lived quietly, practised monks’ Dhamma in the forest. His monk name was “Ariyawanso Bhikkhu.” He often referred to himself as “a saint with no shadow” and “an old monk from the other side of the mountain.” After his ordination, he practised Dhamma in the forest at Ariya Valley and stayed at secluded places.
On March 15th, 1992, Ven. Ariyawanso left the forest to see the doctor and visited his followers at Samnak Poo Sawan where he told them about the three situations that made him shed tears.
Firstly, on January 5th, 1982 while he was in a car leaving the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan passing Samnak Poo Sawan, his tears fell because of his thought, “When will l step into Samnak Poo Sawan again?”
Secondly, in 1987, he said, ”I shed tears when the court decided to put me in jail for one year. I thought when can I find justice in this present society?”
Thirdly, in 1992, he shed tears because he thought, “Even now that I have ordained as a Buddhist monk, but they still did not allow me a place to live. I went to the Sacred Island and the monk named Man told me that 3 or 4 days ago before my arrival, regional policemen came here and took away all my photographs, telling us that ‘monks can stay here but Ven. Suchart is forbidden.’ Ven. Man said ‘You see, no photographs of yours are left.’”
When Ven. Ariyawanso Bhikkhu thought of quitting his monkhood, a voice told him, “Ven. Ariyawanso, your name is Ariyawanso which means the seeds of success. You have continued to do goodness all along until the last moment that you ordained, will you erase all these goodnesses? Think of Ariya Valley to be your living place.” Next morning after getting up, he was ready to go there.
After the World Peace Envoy ordained, he transferred the work of the Office of the World Peace Envoy to the Secretary-General, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phichai Tovivich. Later in July 2003-September 2006, Dr. Thongmoah Champangern took this position. From October 2006 up to present, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phichai Tovivich has been the Secretary General of the Office of the World Peace Envoy.
Moreover, the World Peace Envoy gave his advices on the restoration of works at Samnak Poo Sawan which Associate Professor Dr. Phichai Tovivich was appointed the Chairman of the Restoration. Later Dr. Phichai became the President of the Samnak Poo Sawan Fellows’ Society and President of the Jinnapanjara Prayer Society. He worked to continue the wishes of the World Peace Envoy along the path of a Would-Be Buddha, to bring peace and happiness to the nation, the religion, the monarchy and the world.
BUILDING THE LAND OF THE BODHISATTVA (WOULD-BE BUDDHA)
In 1991 after his ordination, Ven. Ariyawanso Bhikkhu lived and practiced Dhamma for monks peacefully in the forest. The followers who looked after the Bodhisattva Village adjacent to the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan were preparing themselves to disperse when the terrible political situation of the Black May Tragedy of 1992 occurred. It was the turning point. The Supreme Patriarch of the Thai Ecclesiastic Sangha Order, H.H. Somdej Phra Nanasamvara gave an order to the Director General of the Religious Department to allow the followers to continue looking after the land of the Bodhisattva village.
Later on November 19th, 1993, Associate Prof. Dr. Phichai Tovivich, lecturer of the Science Faculty, Chemistry Department of Chulalongkorn University became the Chairman of Samnak Poo Sawan Restoration Committee. Followers who still had faith in Ven. Ariyawanso and his work joined their heart and strength to construct the Ariyasaj Si Building to be the office of Samnak Poo Sawan Fellows’ Society. On the 19th of every month, they organized the praying activity to pay homage to Santi Chedi (Peace Pagoda).
In 1996, a group of people who had faith in praying to the Goddess of Mercy or the Kuan Yin Prayer Society under the leaderships of Mrs. Pennabha Kosolkitiwong, Rear Admiral Sura Yutthawong and Mrs. Pani Yutthawong organized the Casting Ceremony of the Images of Kuan Yin, the Great Avalokitesavara Maha Bodhisattva in four poses. These images would protect Thailand and the world from harm, lessen the effects of bad spells on the world, and balance karma (past and present action) of the country. Kuan Yin of the four poses were: Kuan Yin standing on the Dragon, on the Turtle, on the Lotus and on the Dragon Fish. The Chairman of the Ceremony was H.S.H. Prince Piriyadis Disakul, Chairwoman of the Organizing Committee was Lady (Tan Pu Ying) Ditakarn-pakdi, Chairman of Monks in the Ceremony was the Most Ven. Phra Phrommoli, the Ecclesiastical First Regional Governor, and also Chairman of the Opening Ceremony of the Exhibition, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phichai Tovivich was the Organizing Chairman.
After the Casting of Kuan Yin’s Images, the Kuan Yin Prayer Society asked Ven. Ariyawanso Bhikkhu for his advice on where to enshrine the images. He kindly designated the places. Later in November 1995, the Kuan Yin Prayer Society then started the construction of the Religious Park at Pu Sawan Sub-district, Kaeng Krachan District, Petchaburi Province. It was named Kuan Yin Inter-religious Park. Many images of worship were made and placed at the various sections of the Park. Ven. Ariyawanso Bhikkhu, the Advisor President of the Ceremony of the Spiritual World, conducted sacred ceremonies relating to the making of these images. He also advised that the construction of the Park should use money contributed from people worldwide so they could uplift their mind and soul.
On November 23rd, 1997 while the Inter-religious Park was under construction, Ms. Vilai Jangtrakul, herself a Christian together with the Thai-Chinese Unity Society brought from the Klongtoey Port the One-thousand Eyed, One-thousand-Armed Kuan Yin Image made in China from fragrant camphor wood by Chinese artisans to the Inter-religious Park. January 31st, 1998 marked the ceremony to dedicate the said Image to H.M. the King, in which H.S.H. Prince Piriyadis Disakul acted as the Chairman of the Ceremony, and Assoc.Prof. Dr. Phichai Tovivich acted as the Chairman of the Organizing Committee.
The construction of the Inter-religious Park was miraculously completed in a short time, as wished by Ven. Ariyawanso and all the personnel of the Park. The Divine Sages declared that his land of the Would-be Buddha would be a safe place for humans if disaster struck.
Moreover, Ven. Ariyawanso Bhikkhu made several advices and initiated many other activities useful for peace and happiness of the societies, the nation and the world. They were as follows:
-The suggestion to construct the Panja Chedi Pitak Lok (Five Pagodas to Protect the World) at Nan Province to deviate objects in space such as comets, asteroids, or meteors from colliding with the Earth.
-The suggestion to pray for the divinities in the universe to save humankind and to consistently live in peace.
-The suggestion to organize the Praying Project in Honour of His Majesty the King for the Stability of Thailand, in order to dedicate the merit made to H.M. the King and members of the royal family for a very long life. This project campaigned for people all over the country to jointly pray and to use their mental power to halt all forces that would harm the survival, peace and happiness of Thailand.
-The setting up of a museum of the world’s twelve religions at the Chalerm Prakiat Building (H.M. the King’s 72nd Anniversary Building) at the Kuan Yin Inter-religious Park for general public to study and understand the true principles of religions.
-The suggestion to join the Association of the World Citizens and to set up its branch in Thailand to coordinate with the United Nations. 64
-The suggestion to construct the white jade image of the Would-Be Buddha Phra Sri Ariya Maitreya to prolong the Buddhist era to last 5000 years; and the suggestion to construct the Great Peace Pagoda to protect the world, but this project was still pending.
-To give helpful advice to followers and people who often came to ask for his advice regarding their private matters.
-To put up a scholarship fund for children of followers working in the Kuan Yin Inter-religious Park and for school children in the vicinity of Kaeng Krachan District, Petchaburi Province, who did well in their study but needed financial support.
-To offer scholarships to school children, and to distribute rice to villagers on his birthday.
-To accept from 1994-2002 invitations to preach at Ariyasaj Si Building on important days: Makhapuja Day, Visakhapuja Day, Asarnhapuja Day, the Decease Day of Somdej Toh, Somdej Toh’s Birthday, and on the 19thof every month to offer prayers to pay respect to the Peace Pagoda.
After 2003 owing to his bad health, he stopped preaching on the 19th of every month but accepted invitations to preach at Samnak Sangha Pu Sawan which also organized the activity of chanting and praying to pay homage to the Peace Pagoda on the 19th day of every month.
-The suggestion to build God House Resort to be a religious and nature recluse for people who wanted to take a rest in a genuine religious atmosphere in tranquilly natural setting.
-The suggestion to construct an international child welfare institute to foster helpless children. It needed provisions of learning aids and staff.
-The suggestion to put up a clinic to provide modern-day curing of diseases and another clinic to employ Thai traditional herbal curing.
-The suggestion to set up the world rescue project to help disaster victims (still under preparatory stage).
SUGGESTIONS AND IDEAS FOR THE SOLUTION
OF WORLD CRITICAL PROBLEMS
The World Peace Envoy, Ven. Ariyawanso Bhikkhu, orally drafted letters in Thai and the Office of the World Peace Envoy would translate into foreign languages and signed by the Secretary General of the Office. Sometimes, he concurrently drafted several letters to the United Nations and relevant world leaders proposing solutions to world critical problems. It was amazed to see in those letters the uses of high diplomatic terminology and reasons given to support and supplement his proposed ideas. Some significant letters were as follows:
-On January 11th, 1995 and October 11th, 1995 a letter to H.E. President Boris Yeltsin of Russia asking him to stop attacking Chechnya and to enter peace talks to bring back peace, tranquility and happiness to Russia.
-On January 23rd, 1995 a letter to H.I.M. the Emperor of Japan proposing ideas for Japan to avoid further earthquake disasters.
-On August 11th, 1995 to H.E. President Jiang Zemin of the People’s Republic of China proposing an idea to solve natural and environmental issues which would cause severe natural disasters to humanity.
-On August 11th, 1995 a letter to H.E. Saddam Hussein, President of Iraq expressing appreciation for his agreement to allow the United Nations weapon inspectors to carry out their work inside Iraq for the sake of the Iraqis.
-On August 11th, 1995 a letter to H.E. President Jacques Chirac of France asking him to halt nuclear weapon testing at Mururoa Island in the South Pacific Ocean.
-On February 5th, 1996 a letter to H.E. President Jacques Chirac of France asking him to call on world people to reforest, to stop natural destruction and to cooperate with the United Nations on disarmament for the survival of mankind.
-On April 9th, 1996 to H.E. President Jiang Zemin of the People’s Republic of China asking him to stop military manouevers to threaten Taiwan which might cause the breakout of war.
-On April 24th, 1996 a letter to H.E. John Major, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain asking him to stop killing cows while there was the disaster of mad cow disease in England and Europe and proposing a solution to it.
-On March 25th, 1997 a letter to H.E. President Bill Clinton of the U.S.A. warning against the danger of alien invasion.
-On February 3rd, 1998 a letter to H.E. President Bill Clinton of the U.S.A. proposing to him to implement a single world currency to solve problems of the world economies.
-On February 11th, 1998 a letter to H.E. President Bill Clinton of the U.S.A. proposing ideas to stop war declaration in the Persian Gulf.
-On March 2nd, 1998 a letter to H.E. President Bill Clinton of the U.S.A. suggesting means to campaign for the prayer project for the world’s safety and security to solve problems of national disasters.
-On March 16th, 1998 a letter to H.E. Zhu Rongji, the Prime Minister of People’s Republic of China proposing an idea to reform the monetary system by announcing to use an Asian Dollar monetary system to correct the economic system of China and of the Asian regional countries, not to succumb to money speculators’ plans of destroying Asian economies leading to economic turmoils all over the region.
-On March 16th, 1998 to H.E. General Suharto, President of Indonesia proposing means to solve the economic problems of Indonesia and for people not to rebel against their leader for the sake of peace in Indonesia.
-On March 22nd, 1998 a letter to H.E. Datuk Seri Dr. Mahathir bin Mohammed, Prime Minister of Malaysia asking him to promote the use of the one Asian monetary system in the 2nd ASEM Conference to solve the monetary problems in the Asian region and for justice for humanity.
-On June 24th, 1998 to H.E. President Jiang Zemin of the People’s Republic of China asking him to free Tibet for the peace of the country.
-On June 25th, 1998 a letter to H.E. Kocheril Raman Narayanan, President of India, asking him to refrain from manufacturing nuclear weapons to compete with Pakistan.
-On June 25th, 1998 a letter to H.E. Wasim Sajjad, President of Pakistan asking him to stop nuclear weapon testing.
-On December 5th, 1998 a letter to H.E. President Bill Clinton of the U.S.A. proposing means to solving problems in Iraq.
-On April 23rd, 1999 a letter to H.E. President Boris Yeltsin of Russia congratulating him for his gratitude to the motherland and the members of the Romanov dynasty in untombing skeletons of the royal family for a proper and dignified burial, and also asking him to stop sending Russian forces into Kosovo leading to the end of the war there.
-On April 23rd, 1999 a letter to H.E. President Bill Clinton of the U.S.A. proposing diplomatic means to solve problems in Yugoslavia in which the U.S.A. was playing a part.
-On January 26th, 2000 a letter to H.E. President Boris Yeltsin of Russia asking him to stop war with Chechnya for the sake of peace of the people and the nation.
-On Janaury 26th, 2000 a letter to H.E. Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Prime Minister of India about the Kashmir problem, urging India to negotiate with Pakistan for a peaceful settlement of the problem. And also asking India to stop backing the Tamil Tiger rebels in Sri Lanka, for the sake of peace in South Asia.
-On January 26th, 2000 a letter to H.E. Abdurrahman Wahid, President of Indonesia proposing means to solve the crisis of the country for peace and the survival of the nation.
-On Janaury 26th, 2000 a letter to H.E. Megawati Sukarno Putri, Vice-President of Indonesia proposing means to stop a religious war in Indonesia and for the peace of the nation.
-On January 26th, 2000 and November 2nd, 2000 a letter to H.E. Ehud Barak, Prime Minister of Israel suggesting to him to hold peace talks with Syria for true peace and happiness in the region and the world.
-On January 26th, 2000 a letter to H.E. Pervez Musharraf, President of Pakistan proposing to him to stop helping terrorists fighting in Kashmir.
-On January 26th, 2000 a letter to H.E. Vladimir Putin, acting President and Prime Minister of Russia about stopping the fighting in Chechnya for the sake of humanity and world peace.
-On January 26th, 2000 a letter to H.E. President Chandrika Kumaratunga of Sri Lanka proposing to her to have a talk with Tamil Nadur’s leader to stop the civil war in Jafna.
-On Janaury 26th, 2000 a letter to H.E. President Hafez al-Assad of Syria proposing the idea that he should not let a small piece of land in the Golan Heights become a problem and cause difficulties in the Arab World.
- On March 21st, 2000 a letter to H.E. Chen Shui-bian, President of Taiwan proposing to him to talk peacefully with the Chinese Mainland to jointly set up the Federation of China governed under one country but enjoying two systems.
-On June 5th, 2000 and June 29th, 2000 a letter to H.E. Datuk Seri Dr. Mahathir bin Mohammed, Prime Minister of Malaysia suggesting the correct way to rid the Langawi Island from bad curses, for Lankawi to be a world famous island for tourism in the future.
-On June 29th, 2000 a letter to Mr. Chow Yun Fat, a movie star, expressing views regarding the film “Anna and the King” that it was a distortion of truth causing disgrace to the Thai royalty. H.M. King Rama IV did not order his consort Tabtim and her lover to be killed as shown in the movie. He left the two people alive because he had ordained as a Buddhist monk for 27 years and received the advice from Somdej Phra Buddhacharn (Toh) Brahma Ransi, his advisor during his reign.
-On November 2nd, 2000 a letter to H.E. Hosni Mubarak of Egypt proposing to him to hold a meeting for the Arab world to cease the war between Israel and Palestine.
-On November 2nd, 2000 a letter to H.E. President Yasser Arafat of Palestine proposing to him to hold peace talks with Israel to stop the Israeli-Palestine conflict.
-On November 2nd, 2000 a letter to H.E. Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, proposing that he keep his words of not interfering in the Israeli-Palestinian war, in order to avoid the start of World War III.
-On November 2nd, 2000 a letter to President Dr. Bashar al-Assad of Syria suggesting to him to stop helping Palestine for the betterment of Syria.
-On December 25th, 2000 a letter to H.E. President Yasser Arafat of Palestine proposing to him to hold a religious ritual to dispel war spirits that prompted Israeli and Palestinian soldiers to fight against one another, and to look for neutral parties to conduct peace negotiations so peace could be realized in the Middle East region.
-On December 25th, 2000 a letter to H.E. Ehud Barak, Prime Minister of Israel proposing to him to stop the war between Israel and Palestine for peace and happiness to flourish in the Middle East.
-On January 19th, 2001 a letter to H.E. President George Bush, Jr. of the U.S.A. proposing means to solve economic problems in Asia and for the U.S. economy not to bubble as a result.
-On March 21st, 2001 a letter to H.E.Yoshiro Mori, Prime Minister of Japan proposing to him to protest the Afghanistan leadership asking them to cancel the destruction of more than ten sacred Buddha images in Afghanistan.
- On March 21st, 2001 a letter to the Chairman of the Ruling Council of Afghanistan urging him to stop destroying the remaining Buddha Images and to reconsider announcing those sites of the images to be religious tourist destinations in Afghanistan.
-On March 24th, 2001 a letter to H.E. President George Bush, Jr. of the U.S.A. suggesting to him to halt using military power to attack Iraq.
-On April 27th, 2001 a letter to H.E. Aerial Sharon, Prime Minister of Israel suggesting to him to hold a ceremony of dispersing spells at Gaza Strip and the West Bank for the bad spirits to leave the mind of Palestinian and Israel soldiers, leading to peace in Jerusalem and the West Bank and in the greater Middle East.
-On July 22nd, 2001 a letter to H.E. President George Bush, Jr. of the U.S.A. proposing to him to stop missile defence tests which were against the Treaty on the Disarmament and Non-proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. The U.S. actions would cause the other countries partied to the treaty to abrogate the treaty, which could potentially lead to World War III.
-On September 20th, 2001 a letter to H.E. President George Bush, Jr. of the U.S.A. pointing out that the cause of the destruction of the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. on September 11th, 2001 was the result of past actions. He also urged President Bush to refrain from using nuclear weapons to attack Afghanistan which might cause the Third World War.
-On October 20th , 2001 a letter to H.E. President George Bush, Jr. of the U.S.A. asking him to stop the military intervention in Iraq to prevent the escalation of the fighting.
-On November 25th, 2001 a letter to H.E. President George Bush, Jr. of the U.S.A. suggesting means to solve problems in Afghanistan and not to ignite the cause of global holy war and World War III.
-On November 21st, 2001 and December 31st, 2001 letters to Mr. Raja Muhammad Zafarul Haq, Secretary-General of the World Muslim Congress asking him to urge Muslims that killing for Allah or making holy war was not right and proposed to him to organize a Muslim conference worldwide to propagate the actual Al Quran Scripture of Lord Allah.
-On April 9th, 2002 a letter to H.E. Aerial Sharon, Prime Minister of Israel asking for Israel and Palestine to sign a peace treaty.
-On July 17th, 2002 a letter to President of the Military Reform Cabinet of Myanmar asking him to hold peace talk with the Shan State leaders, and also to promote Thai-Myanmar trade for true friendship.
-On October 7th, 2002 a letter to H.E. President George Bush, Jr. of the U.S.A. asking him to stop using military force to attack Iraq.
-On March 18th, 2003, a letter to all world leaders suggesting that they read the attached booklet “The Last Hope of Mankind” to find some ways towards the survival and safety of the world and mankind, as well as the world’s eternal peace.
-On May 12th, 2003 a letter to H.E. President George Bush, Jr. of the U.S.A. proposing to him to organize the new world order after the end of the Persian Gulf war which might cause terrorism to expand.
-On November 11th, 2003 a letter to H.E. President George Bush, Jr. of the U.S.A. proposing means to better serve the situation in Iraq by joining with the UN to help Iraqis elect their own government and draft their own constitution to lessen terrorism in Iraq.
-On December 26th, 2003 a letter to H.E. President George Bush, Jr. of the U.S.A. to ask for the U.S.A. to be neutral in the decisions of Saddam Hussein’s cases.
-On December 26th, 2003 a letter to H.E. Shi Jiuyong, President of the International Court of Justice proposing to him to make a request for the case of Mr. Saddam Hussein, former President of Iraq, to be considered by the World Court . This was to guarantee the impartial justice in this case for the sake of humanitarian act.
-On December 31st, 2003 a letter to H.E. Seyyed Mohammad Khatami, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran expressing profound condolence for the aftermath of the severe earthquake with a great loss of lives and properties. He also suggested that Iran correct its past troubled actions to avoid the recurrence of severe natural disasters by bringing H.I.M. Shah’s corpse back for a proper and dignified burial in Iran, building a memorial monument for him and performing a rite for the Shah’s forgiveness. Then Iran would be peaceful similar to what President Boris Yeltsin did – to ask for forgiveness and built a monument for Czar Nicholas II, thus bringing peace and progress to Russia up to now.
-On January 16th, 2004 a letter to Mr. Raja Muhammad Zafarul Haq, Secretary-General of the World Muslim Congress to ask for the correct understanding of the teachings in the Al Quran Scripture not to distort Allah’s teaching of it by radical Islamic elements which advocate Jihad or global holy war.
-On November 2nd, 2004 a letter to Mr. Raja Muhammad Safarul Haq, Secretary-General of the World Muslim Congress pointing to the case of worldwide Muslims’ misunderstanding of the situation in Thailand and protesting against the Thai government. The fact was that it was not a conflict between Buddhism and Islam, but caused by bad elements in the area which stirred up local disturbances with the aim of a territorial secession. He asked him to consider this matter objectively, giving justice to Thailand and not spreading this misunderstanding within the Islamic world for it might lead to a religious war.
-On November 12th, 2004 a letter to H.E. President George Bush, Jr. of the U.S.A. congratulating him on his second term of presidency, and proposing ideas to solve Palestinian, Iranian and North Korean problems, for the cause of true peace in the world.
-On December 7th, 2004, New Year’s messages for 2005 from the Office of the World Peace Envoy were sent to country leaders, religious leaders, peace leaders worldwide, the UN and ambassadors to Thailand, asking them to consider taking actions for peace in the world. Many suggestions were offerred to limit and lessen dangers from natural disaster, terrorism, and the world’s general deterioration as follows:
1. As for natural disaster, it was necessary to campaign seriously for reforestation and to be completed within 10 years or else the world temperature would reach 45 degree celcius, too hot for humans then to endure living on the earth’s surface.
2. On danger from terrorism, we had to make people realize the true meaning of life. People must realize that they would not live for longer than a hundred years. We could talk and laugh together. Why should we be enemies?
3. The path to peace in the world was to use mental power to stop military aggression; we must promote more prayers among our people for the good of all humanity.
The United Nations
The World Peace Envoy also verbally drafted letters to the United Nations proposing ideas in finding solutions to some problems. These following letters were sent out by the Secretary General of the Office of the World Peace Envoy.
-On September 26th, 1994 to H.E. Boutros Boutros Ghali, Secretary-General of the United Nations proposing ways to naturally reduce the number of world population by:
1. Campaigning for males and females to marry at the age of 30 and to have only 2-3 children. That would be enough to decrease world population naturally.
2. Convincing people to have sexual desire control, not birth control and to campaign to have sexual intercourse for prolonging posterity and not only for pleasure.
3. Everybody could keep sexual desire under control by chanting and meditating. Praying and meditating would decrease carnal desire and people would not need other kinds of control.
-On May 30th, 1995 and October 19th, 1995 to H.E. Boutros Boutros Ghali, Secretary-General of the United Nations, proposing that the UN be self-reliant by organizing a world government, issuing loan bonds acceptable to all governments, and having a standardized global currency.
-On August 11th, 1995 and October 30th, 1995 to H.E. Boutros Boutros Ghali, Secretary-General of the United Nations proposing the lifting of the economic embargo and punishment of Iraq so that Iraqi people and their country would endure less suffering.
-On May 13th, 1996 to H.E. Boutros Boutros Ghali, Secretary-General of the United Nations urging him to stop the slaughter of a great number of cattle in the United Kingdom of Great Britain to prevent the spread of mad cow disease.
-On January 23rd, 1997 to H.E. Kofi Annan, Secretary-General of the United Nations proposing to the United Nations to issue loan bonds and asking for world leaders’ consensus for the United Nations to issue God or UN dollars so the United Nations under reform would be able to support itself.
-On October 17th, 1997 to H.E. Kofi Annan, Secretary-General of the United Nations proposing to the United Nations to campaign for prayer projects for world peace and stability, using mental power to jointly prevent the world axis from tilting too much for a proper balance of nature and humans, and urging the world population to join hands in reforestation to actively prevent severe floods and natural disasters, for the survival of humanity and for the delay of the world’s destruction.
-On November 30th, 1997 to H.E. Kofi Annan, Secretary-General of the United Nations proposing to the United Nations to be the centre for the organizing of prayer project for world peace and stability, and to campaign worldwide for countries to preserve forests and nature to protect the world environment and the world climate. He also submitted a booklet on “A.D. 1999: the World in Disaster/B.E. 2542: the Ways for Survival” to bring into discussion and decision at the International Conference on Global Climate Change, Kyoto, Japan that December.
-On April 23rd, 1999 to H.E. Kofi Annan, Secretary-General of the United Nations proposing that the United Nations take the Yugoslavia conflicts into an urgent consideration to end the Kosovo war so that history would not repeat itself like when it happened before World War II.
-On October 10th, 1999 and November 19th, 1999 to H.E. Kofi Annan, Secretary-General of the United Nations proposing to the United Nations to resolve the problems in East Timor by sending international peace keeping forces of the United Nations (especially from Thailand) to join with the independence protection corps force of Timor. The United Nations should set up the East Timor government run by East Timorese people similar to that of the UN Transitional Authority into Cambodia (UNTAC) under the leadership of H.E. Yasushi Akashi, UN Under-Secretary-General for Disarmament Affairs in organizing the Cambodian government. The international community should contribute to the reconstruction of East Timor, for the sake of peace and happiness of the East Timorese people and the world at large.
-On March 22nd, 2000 to H.E. Kofi Annan, Secretary-General of the United Nations proposal to reconsider relaxing the economic blockade of Iraq to lift the troubles of the entire global community.
-On April 27th, 2000 to H.E. Kofi Annan, congratulating the United Nations on the resolution for declaring the International Recognition Day of Visak, and proposing the use of the lunar calendar as all Buddhists did instead of the solar calendar, so the Day would not be exactly on May 11th of every year.
-On September 22nd, 2001 to H.E. Kofi Annan, Secretary-General of the United Nations asking for a meeting resolution to lessen the pressure against the US in its use of military operations to suppress global terrorism. This would show to the world public that the US still respected the UN’s resolution, its honour and its credibility.
-On October 20th, 2001 and November 25th, 2001 to H.E. Kofi Annan, Secretary-General of the United Nations proposing that the UN proceed to establish a provisional coalition government in Afghanistan the same as the 3 party coalition government in Cambodia, bringing back peace to Afghanistan and the world.
-On August 28th, 2003 and November 11th, 2003 to H.E. Kofi Annan, Secretary-General of the United Nations proposing that the UN send UN international peacekeeping forces into Iraq and that the UN commander in Iraq should be either Saudi Arabian, Egyptian, Syrian or Jordanian whoever was deemed to come from the most neutral nation in the Arab world. Then the UN could organize a general election for a local Iraqi government, only then withdrawing the UN international peace keeping forces from Iraq.
-On October 19th, 2003 to H.E. Kofi Annan, Secretary-General of the United Nations, proposing for the UN to seek a new location for its headquarters and announce the use of the world single currency and UN bonds to strengthen the UN to be self-reliant. Only then it would be possible to form the world government.
-On December 26th, 2003 and December 31st, 2003 to H.E. Kofi Annan, Secretary-General of the United Nations suggesting that the United Nations bring the case against Suddam Hussein to the World Court, and for send UN international peacekeeping forces into Iraq as earlier proposed in order to stabilize the situation in Iraq so that terrorism would not flourish and the Iraqi conflict would not become the catalyst of World War III.
-On March 26th, 2004, to H.E. Kofi Annan, Secretary-General of the United Nations proposing that the UN send UN international peace keeping forces to be responsible in transferring power to an Iraqi governing body to prevent a secular civil war. 74
-On November 12th, 2004 to H.E. Kofi Annan, Secretary-General of the United Nations offering to help promoting a new UN Secretary-General from the Asian region for peace in the Asian region and in the world, as well as to urging the UN to secure urgently a stable government of Iraq for real peace in Iraq.
FIGHTING TO CONSERVE THAM PHRA MOUNTAIN RANGES, NATIONAL ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITES
From 1971-1973 when the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan was still being developed, Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong had to fight against influential groups, (the 7 stone blasting companies) who tried to get permission to blast and mine stones of Tham Phra mountain ranges which were protected national archaelogical sites. This problem ceased temporarily after the Prime Minister of that time gave an order to absolutely forbid the stone mining of Tham Phra mountain ranges.
Later, in 1979, one of the seven influential stone mining companies resubmitted its application for permission to blast and mine stones of the Esan mountain ranges (or Eisan mountain ranges) which were parts of Tham Phra mountain ranges and located very close to the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan. Dr. Suchart then notified in writing the relevant government office to withdraw its permission. Later, the Fine Art Department in its letter dated June 3, 1980 sent to the Governor of the Ratchaburi Province stating its objection to the mining of Esan mountain ranges and reconfirmed the policy to preserve them. The Ratchaburi Governor of that time then ordered the blasting of the Esan mountain ranges to stop.
By this reason, the stone blasting companies who lost the business were displeased with Dr. Suchart. They hired writers to smear and tarnish Dr. Suchart’s reputation and also published articles in the newspapers to attack him. At the end of 1981, they framed and alleged that there were military weapons (which they had themselves placed) in the pond in front of the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan and had the newspapers published this story the next day. But when military officers went to check the said weapons that were recovered from the pond in front of the Religious Land, the weapons’ serial numbers were registered to a unit of border patrol police in Ratchaburi Province. The story of possessing illegal weapons was then quiet down. But the newspapers still published news attacking and unjustly blaming Dr. Suchart with various allegations. Later on December 30th, 1981 75
(an official holiday) the government offices brought an order dated December 29th, 1981 to close Hooppha Sawan without stating any reason or facts.
The reasons for Dr. Suchart to be pushed aside were probably:
1. He worked openly to fight against Communists.
2. He obstructed the interest of stone mining companies.
3. He obstructed foreign power brokers seeking to control Thailand.
4. He obstructed local parties to seize control of Thailand’s domestic politics.
5. He obstructed the graft of officials in the province and locality.
6. He offsided the government in his works (an analysis of the then UN Under-Secretary-General for Disarmament Affairs).
Later in 1984-1985 another stone mining company asked for permits to blast and
mine stones of Esan mountain ranges once again. The group of workers for religion and peace then notified the authority and all concerned to cancel permits of stone mining, other kinds of mining concession, as well as other activities at the Tham Phra (Suae Mohb) and Eisan (Esan) mountain ranges. Therefore, the Ratchaburi Governor issued an order to stop the mining of stones of Esan mountain ranges, and located a new place for stone mining industries.
This was one act of Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong in his fight to preserve the Tham Phra mountain ranges to remain a protected national archaeological treasure up to now.
NON-VIOLENT FIGHTING BY PEACEFUL MEANS TO PROTECT THAILAND AND THE WORLD
Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong set out his goals to reach perfect qualifications for Bodhisattva when he decided to dedicate himself to work for the Great Masters in the Spiritual World. He, together with a group of Thai people who devoted their works and financial support for the accomplishment of Samnak Poo Sawan’s objectives, then implemented the commands from the Divinity.
The work that the Spiritual World commanded him to conduct as human along Bodhisattva’s ways (Would-be Buddha’s Way) comprised the following 8 vows and 10 ethical conducts. 76
Eight Vows of a Would-be Buddha
1. A Bodhisattva will dedicate his services for the benefit of all beings without expecting anything in return from them.
2. A Bodhisattva will bear the sufferings for all beings without fear.
3. A Bodhisattva can dedicate unselfishly all his accumuled merits to all beings.
4. A Bodhisattva will impartially treat all beings alike and be always humble.
5. A Bodhisattva pays as much respect to other Bodhisattvas as he would to the Buddha and after listening to a sutra which he has never heard before, he will never have doubt in that sutra.
6. A Bodhisattva will never turn his back to the teachings of an Arahant (one who has attained nirvana) but adapts himself/herself to such teachings.
7. A Bodhisattva will never be jealous of wealthy offerings received by others and will never be egoistic with what he received. He can control his mind.
8. A Bodhisattva will always scrutinize his own mistakes and will never criticize the faults of others. He is steadfastly determined to accumulate merit by helping all beings out of sufferings.
Those are the eight qualities of a Bodhisattva. Anyone who beholds these qualities
is a Bodhisattva.
The Ten Ethical Conducts of a Bodhisattva
1. A Bodhisattva will never wish that his physical body would be free from sickness. (To be sick is natural.)
2. A Bodhisattva lives without a wish that he would never be in danger. (To be in danger is natural.)
3. A Bodhisattva will never wish that he would not face with any hindrance in purifying his mind. (To have hindrance is natural.)
4. A Bodhisattva will never wish that he would have no demons who oppose to his dharma practice. (To have an evil one opposing to his Bodhi-mind practice is natural.)
5. A Bodhisattva believes in taking the longest time to accomplish his work without wishing it to be achieved quickly. (Leave time alone, to work for work.)
6. A Bodhisattva associates with friends without wishing to take benefit from friends. (To love others with sincerity.)
7. A Bodhisattva will never wish that others would always please him. (Without selfishness.)
8. A Bodhisattva does good deeds to others without wanting anything in return. (To wish others free from sufferings.)
9. A Bodhisattva sees wealthy gains without desiring to have a share. (He/she does not want any gains or praises.)
10. When a Bodhisattva is charged, smeared, criticized or blamed, he/she will not react or counterattack. (The allegation, smear, critic and blame are common in the nature of the world.)
May practitioners scrutinize them carefully. The ten ethical conducts are the highest
dhamma of all Bodhisattvas. They are called the great hindrances or obstacles of Bodhi-mind (Bodhi-citta), all practitioners cannot definitely escape these surroundings. The practicioners who are not equal to them or are not prepared for them may be discouraged or may give up their attempt.
Dr. Suchart spoke about his work: “Every Would-be Buddha’s way will help humans to die according to their life spans.
The ten ideals were all great matters; we did all for:
1. Protecting the Throne.
2. Protecting the survival of the country.
3. Protecting the religion to last a full 5000 years.
4. Promoting world peace.
5. Inspiring humans to reach within their own religions and to upgrade their mental and spiritual levels.”
In carrying out the works, the Great Masters planned to implement them step by
step and accomplished them miraculously. The work the Great Masters did in the name of the World Peace Envoy, Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong were:
1. To Stop War in the Indochinese Peninsula
In 1970, he ordered to construct an image of the Would-be Buddha Sri Ariya Maitreya filled with holy soils from 7 countries to bring peace and calm into Indochinese Peninsula. During 1957-1975 there was the war in Vietnam. On April 30th, 1975, the Vietnamese war ended when the U.S.A. withdrew its military forces and South Vietnam was occupied by the North.
2. To Distribute Talismanic Cloth to Protect Soldiers and Guard the Nation
From 1972-1980 because of the on-going war to win over the people and
their ideology, Dr. Suchart led his religious mission to boost morale of soldiers, policemen, volunteers, and officials who did their duty at the frontier of Thailand. and distribute to them blessed talismanic cloth to protect Thailand’s independence. This also aimed at stimulating people to sacrifice their welfare for the protection of the country, the nation and peace in the world.
On August 6th, 1977, the World Peace Envoy Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong was invited by Mr. Pisarn Mulasartsathorn, Governor of Nakorn Phanom Province to conduct the ceremony of “the day when the guns go silent” at Na Bua village , Renunakorn District, Nakorn Phanom Province. This was the same place of “the day when the gun roared,” starting the ideological war sometimes ago. It was to boost the morale of fighting men and to give them consecrated objects to protect themselves from harm. This mission was another way of helping the country. Later in 1980, the Communist terrorists laid down their weapons and came out to work alongside the Thai armed forces in developing the Thai nation.
3. Samnak Poo Sawan Helped End the Bloodshed
There were three recent bloodshed situations in Thailand
1) On October 14th, 1973, it was called “October Tragedy” which happened
at Thammasart University, at Phra Meru Ground and at Ratchadamnern
Avenue. Lots of students and people were killed.
2) On October 9th, 1976, it was called “October Tragedy” again. also
happened at Thammasart University where students and people were killed.
3) On May 17th, 1992, it was called, “Black May Incident” happened at the Democracy Monument where people who joined the demonstration were killed in great numbers.
Ending the First Bloodshed
On October 14th, 1973, the Supreme Spirit of Luang Poo Tuad (Changing Salty into Fresh Water), Great Chairman of Samnak Poo Sawan, Chairman of World Overseers, possessed the body of Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong at Samnak Poo Sawan and commanded Devas and Brahmas committed to protecting Thailand to contain the situation from expanding further and return everything to normal by October 15.
The next day, October 15th, 1973, at 20.10 hrs. Radio Thailand broadcast that the situation had returned to normal and lifted the order for the nightly curfew. On October 15th, 1973, the Samnak Poo Sawan Committee organized a religious ritual and an ordination ceremony of 7 followers at Pak Tho Temple, Ratchaburi Province to dedicate merit to the souls of students and people who died in the event of the October Tragedy Day.
On October 21st, 1973, the Committee of Samnak Poo Sawan organized a ceremony of paying respect to Devas and Brahmas, and to express gratitude to the Sages who descened to stop the bloodshed situation. They then organized a ceremony of helping the souls of students and people killed in the incident. Prof. Dr. Kloom Vajropala was the Chairman of the Ceremony. It was arranged at Samnak Poo Sawan because the dead students’ souls came to seek help from the Devas and Brahmas at Samnak Poo Sawan. Luang Poo Tuad (Changing Salty into Fresh Water) then commanded the ceremony to be organized to save those souls from suffering.
On October 14th, 1974, was the cremation day of the students’ bodies who died in the Tragedy on October 14th, 1973. The Committee of Samnak Poo Sawan organized a Ceremony of Worshipping Devas, Brahmas, Courageous Kings and the Protector of Siam, asking them to prevent the ill-wishers’ plan to cause trouble at the cremation ceremony at Phra Meru Ground (Sanam Luang). The Committee also organized an offering table to please their souls, asking them to do merit by keeping the situation of that cremation day calm. Prof. Dr. Kloom Vajropala was the Chairman for the worshipping and offering ceremonies.
Moreover, the Supreme Soul of Luang Poo Tuad (Changing Salty into Fresh Water) commanded Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong, H.S.H. Prince Choompakabutra Jumbala, Dr. Boonyong Vongvanij, Police General Bamrung Kanchanawatna and some members of the Samnak Poo Sawan Committee to attend the ceremony at the Phra Meru Ground, so that many Devas and Brahmas would come to make sure that ill-wishers could not disrupt the ceremony. The cremation ceremony went peacefully without any incident.
On October 19th, 1974, the Holy Soul of Somdej Phra Buddhacharn (Toh) Brahma Ransi ordered the Samnak Poo Sawan Committee to construct the Peace Pagoda to strengthen the prestige of H.M. the King and to protect the Royalty. The Committee then organized a ceremony of anointing and laying the auspicious stone of the Peace Pagoda. H.H. Somdej Phra Ariyawansakatayarn (Vasna Vasno), the Supreme Patriarch of the Thai Ecclesiastical Sangha Order, presided over the ceremony anointing the auspicious stone. Major General Prakarn Bhuvanartnuraks acted as the Organizing Chairman. H.S.H. Prince Choompakabutr Jumbala, representing the Royal Court made his wish and placed the auspicious stone at the base of the pagoda.
Ending of the Second Bloodshed
On October 10th, 1976, Samnak Poo Sawan organized a procession to bring Buddha’s Relics to Hooppha Sawan and to open the Co-operative Store of Hooppha Sawan.
Later on October 14th, 1976, Samnak Poo Sawan organized the Consecration Ceremony of the Peace Pagoda medals at Hooppha Sawan.
On October 19th-28th, 1976 Samnak Poo Sawan organized the Enshrinement Ceremony of the Buddha’s Relics in the Peace Pagoda. This ceremony was an emulation of Malla Kings’ ceremony to share Buddha’s Relics which happened after the Buddha was cremated. H.H. Somdej Phra Ariyawansakatayarn (Vasna Vasno), the Supreme Patriarch of the Thai Ecclesiastical Sangha Order presided over the part of the Sangha Ceremony. Ambassadors and representatives of 9 countries: Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, the U.S.A. and Thailand enshrined the Buddha’s Relics in the Peace Pagoda. H.E. Air Chief Marshal Thavee Chullasap, the Deputy Prime Minister, was the Chairman of the Ceremony and Police Major General Pibul Pasawat was the Chairman of the Organizing Ceremony.
The organization of these three ceremonies was to help pacify the situation quickly.
After that, the Great Devas and Brahmas for many times helped prevent the plan of plotters to mobilize people to cause trouble on the anniversary of the October Tragedy.
Ending of the Third Bloodshed
On May 16th-17th, 1992, Ven. Ariyawanso Bhikkhu (formerly Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong left the forest to visit his followers at Ariyasaj Si Building, Bangkok. That was when the Black May tragedy happened on May 17th, 1992. With great concern to see Thais killing and destroying each other, Ven. Ariyawanso Bhikkhu prayed for divine power of the Great Masters to help stop the situation immediately so that the country would not suffer and foreign countries would not lose trust in Thailand. Later on 21st May 1992, the situation returned to a peaceful state once again.
4. The Construction of the Peace Pagoda to Protect the Royal Family and
World Peace
In 1974-1978 Communist terrorists called on their followers to cause intense trouble in Thailand and at the same time a great number of Cambodians, Laotians and Vietnamese took refuge in Thailand. In those neighbouring countries, many people were killed and the King of Laos was dethroned. There were continuously reinforcements of foreign troops along the Thai borders. The Great Masters decided therefore to have the Peace Pagoda constructed to protect the Thai royal family. Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong and his followers then organized the Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony of the Peace Pagoda. On October 19th, 1974 H.H. the Supreme Patriarch of the Ecclesiastical Sangha Order (Vasna Vasno of Rajborphit Temple) presided over the ceremony to anoint the auspicious stone, Major General Prakarn Bhuvanartnurak was the Chairman of the Organizing Ceremony and H.S.H. Prince Choompakaputr Jumbala representating the Court made his wish and placed the auspicious stone at the base of the pagoda.
On October 19th, 1976 the Enshrinement Ceremony of the Buddha’s Relics in the ten-tops of the Peace Pagoda was held with Air Chief Marshal Thavee Chulasap, the Deputy Prime Minister as the Chairman of the Ceremony, Police Major General Pibul Pasawat acting as the Chairman of the Organizing Ceremony, H.H. the Supreme Patriarch of the Ecclesiastical Sangha Order (Vasna Vasno) was the Chairman of the Sangha Party. Eight ambassadors and representatives of various countries presented Buddha’s Relics to H.H. the Supreme Patriarch to place them inside the Pagoda. The ambassadors and diplomatic representatives were from Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republic and the U.S.A.
Hon. Suchart Kosolkitiwong gave Peace Pagoda miniature contained with Buddha’s Relics to Samnak Poo Sawan branches in 52 provinces and to followers who had faith in the work of Samnak Poo Sawan all over the country. They could pay respect to the pagoda and ask for the mercy of Devas and Brahmas who were taking care of Buddha’s Relics to protect the various provinces and also to bring peace and safety to the nation. After that event, in 1977, Hon. Suchart Kosolkitiwong invited followers and the general public to join together on the 19th of every month to pray for the continuing strength of the nation, religion, monarchy and world peace at the Peace Pagoda site on the mountain range.
The activity is continued up to now at the Ariyasaj Si Building, Samnak Poo Sawan Fellows’ Society, Bangkok and at Pu Sawan Temple, Petchaburi Province.
As a result, Thailand was saved by the kind help of the Great Devas, Brahmas and by the joint mental power of the Thai people. Also there were less hot spots in the world.
5. Building the Statue of King Rama I, (Somdech Phra Putta Yod Fa Chulalok the Great) to Protect Thailand
To prevent Thailand from being split into northern, southern and central Thailand, the Great Masters commanded Hon. Suchart and followers to build a statue of King Rama I (Somdech Phra Putta Yod Fa Chulalok the Great) the first king of the Chakri Dynasty. The Casting Ceremony of the Statue of King Rama I was organized on February 15th, 1976. The Chairman of the ceremony was H.S.H. Prince Choompakaputr Jumbala, and the Chairman of the Organizing Ceremony was Police Major General Pibul Pasawat.
Later on April 6th, 1976, a ceremony was held to install the Statue of the King Rama I on its pedestral. Inside the pedestral base contained soils from all 73 provinces of the country (at that time). At present, his statue still stands prominently in front of Salika Cave in the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan.
6. Organizing Ceremonies to Balance the Past Negative Actions of the Country and the World
The World Peace Envoy received instructions from the Great Masters to organize several ceremonies to balance the past actions because crises were looming to happen to the country and to the world. The World Peace Envoy said, “The country has its horoscope, the world also has its horoscope. Their fates could not be resisted but they can be balanced. Every fated crisis can be balanced to slowly occur or change. When the crisis actually comes, there can be only minimal bloodshed.”
Many ceremonies of past action balances were organized at the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan. Every ceremony aimed implicitly to mend the bad spell, to strengthen the Chakri Dynasty, to help fellow humans, and to allow the country to survive. (Details of the various ceremonies appeared in “World Eternal Peace Conference,” Book 1-7 and books of Samnak Poo Sawan)
From 1975-1976, the World Peace Envoy led a group of followers to practice Paramatha Dhamma (the Higher Doctrine) in the forest. The aims were for them to learn how to live as human, and live in natural way to appreciate Dhamma. They changed their camping place everyday to balance the past negative actions of all Thai people so they would not have to take refuge from dangers as did the Laotians, Cambodians and Vietnameses.
After the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan was confiscated, the Great Masters instructed the World Peace Envoy to organize many activities of balancing past negative actions, to help Thailand, Thai people, fellow human beings, and the world. They were for example;
- In 1993, the publishing of the book “Mind Power War” to disclose the use of mental power which was a hundredfold or even a thousandfold more frightening than a nuclear weapon in its capacity to destroy humankind. It could stop people from breathing, therefore killing them. The Thai people should not fall into hidden traps of the users of mental power in bad ways.
- In 1994, 8 million ‘blessed universe medals’ were made for worldwide distribution in order to help save the world. Ven. Ariyawamso Bhikkhu conveyed the decision of the Spiritual World in making these ‘blessed universe medals’ that, “we must make at least 8 million universe medals which will be enough to prevent the world war. These are universal medals of the world. Devas, Brahmas, Yama, Demons, heavenly people (Kondharns), giants, wandering spirits of every religion would protect and give facility to the persons who have these medals These persons are blessed with happiness and high achievement in their lives.” This project did not reach its target yet.
- In 1995, one million printed sacred pictures of Luang Poo Tuad (Changing Salty into Fresh Water), Luang Poh Somdaj Phra Buddhacharn (Toh) Brahma Ransi, Tao Maha Brahma Jinna Panjara, the Great Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara (Kuan Yin) and the Great Bodhisattva Sri Ariya Maitreya were made for distribution to the general public to always be kept in their pockets to protect themselves against black magic that was prevalent in Thailand.
- In 1995, Ven. Ariyawamso Bhikkhu advised his followers to organize praying sessions on the courtyard of the 4 statues of Thai Kings in Bangkok because there was prevalent black magic power in Thailand disturbing the minds of Thai people. Assoc.Prof. Dr. Phichai Tovivich, President of the Jinna Panjara Praying Society, therefore organized praying sessions at those courtyards which helped ending the protest against the government.
- In 1997, they published the booklet “1999: the World in Disasters; B. E. 2542: Plans for Survival” and distributed to the general public to aware of the coming natural disasters and to be prepared for them.
- In 1997 they were suggested to have a project of erecting images of Buddha ”Phra Buddharatana to Protect Thailand” in 76 provinces all over Thaiand.
Later at the end of 1998, Ven. Ariyawanso Bhikkhu suggested to his followers to organize the Praying Project to Honour H.M. the King for the Stability of Thailand and to dedicate the merit from the project to H.M. the King on the auspicious commemoration of his 6th Cycle Anniversary, 5th December 1999 which was also considered as a highly auspicious year for Thailand. The Great Masters suggested that if the project gathered 10,000 prayers every Thursday, Thailand would be miraculously saved. And if the project gathered 1 million prayers and 3 million people owned the ‘blessed universe medals’ then the world would be peaceful.
- In 1999 and 2000, Ven. Ariyawamso Bhikkhu suggested that 2 ceremonies of Candle Lighting and Praying for Peace in Thailand and the World to be organized at the Kuan Yin Inter-religious Park, Petchaburi Province (see details in the commemorative book of these ceremonies.)
- In 1999-2001, Ven. Ariyawamso Bhikkhu suggested to his followers to organize the
Merit-making Ceremony to get rid of bad black influence in the world and to prevent the Third World War because the world was facing with a crisis of black magic power from outside. There were events of the terrorists’ plane attacks and destructions of the twin buildings of the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., U.S.A. on the 11th September 2001 ordered by Osama Bin Laden, the leader of Al Qaeda who fled to Afghanistan. At that moment the U.S.A. might be inclined to use atomic weapons to destroy him in Afghanistan.
- On July 28th, 2002, the Great Masters suggested that the Ceremony to Extend the Horoscopic Fate of the City of Bangkok be arranged.
7. Organizing of Two Blessing Ceremonies to Defuse the Persian Gulf Crisis
In 1991 and 2003 there were two wars in the Persian Gulf. With the concerns that the crisis in the Middle East might deteriorate to the point of starting the Third World War, the Great Masters ordered the World Peace Envoy to organize two ceremonies of balancing past negative actions to prevent the destruction of human lives and properties and the expansion of war to all over the world. They were as follows:
- The First Time: On August 2nd, 1990 Iraq under the leadership of President
Saddam Hussein invaded and occupied Kuwait. Later Iraqi forces arrested and held foreign diplomats in Iraq as hostages. The United Nations then decided to sanction against Iraq and allowed the Superpowers and allies to blockade the Persian Gulf. They gave an altematum for Iraq to withdraw its forces from Kuwait by January 15th, 1991. Allied countries who sent forces to join the battle in the Persian Gulf war were the U.S.A., Canada, Italy, England, France and Saudi Arabia. But Iraq did not comply to the UN’s decision. Then on January 17th, 2001, the U.S.A. and the allied countries attacked Iraq by air which started the first Persian Gulf War. Iraq was heavily damaged. At last President Saddam Hussein agreed to withdraw his forces from Kuwait under the conditions set out by the UN. The first Persian Gulf War ended on February 27th, 1991.
While the crisis of Iraq occupying Kuwait being unfolded, the World Peace Envoy
suggested the idea of solving the event by peaceful means by sending private letters dated Septem-ber 18th, 1990 and on November 27th, 1990 to President Saddam Hussein of Iraq and also letters dated September 20th, 1990, and November 27th, 1990 to President George Bush, Sr. of the U.S.A. but the two leaders did not accept his suggestions. Relating to the event in the letter the World Peace Envoy sent to Dr. Phil Lane Jr, Coordinator of the Four Worlds International Institute for Development in Canada partly stated, “God proposes the best way for every party to prevent war, but it is up to humans to choose between war or peace.”
To end the war very soon, the Great Masters instructed the World Peace Envoy to organize the Consecrating Ceremony of the Kuan Yin Images, Phra Pong Somdej Santibhap (later called Phra Somdej Santibhap of Persian Gulf War) and others on the main building of Samnak Poo Sawan. In the ceremony there were prayers for the Persian Gulf War to end and for peace to reign in the Middle East. Later on February 27, 1991 the Persian Gulf War ended completely. Kuwait regained its independence and the world returned to a peaceful state once more. This event proved clearly to the followers that religious power and mental power could bring peace.
- The Second Time: On March 20th, 2003 President George Bush Jr. of the U.S.A. and leaders of the allied countries of Italy, Sweden, the Philippines, Korea, England etc. decided to use forces to attack heavily many Iraqi towns suspected of stockpiling weapons or being a hiding place for President Saddam Hussein. The second Persian Gulf War then broke out inevitably.
Before the crisis of the Persian Gulf War, Dr. Reinhart Ruge, Co-President of World Constitution and Parliament Association (WCPA) and Dr. T.P. Amerasinghe, President of the Organizing Committee of the meeting of Provisional World Parliament (PWP) contacted the World Peace Envoy to organize the 6th PWP Meeting in Thailand. With the confirmation of the conference, the World Peace Envoy assigned Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phichai Tovivich to set up a coordinating committee of the conference to decide on the venue in Thailand and its preparation. Prof. Dr. Kasae Chanawong, M.D. was the president of this committee, and Dr. Sutin Napaketu was one of the members.
While the Persian Gulf War was in progress, the 6th Provisional World Parliament meeting was organized at the Bangkok Center Hotel from March 24th-27th, 2003 with participants from 12 countries. The Chairman of the Opening Ceremony was Colonel Somkid Sri Sangkom, Senator from Udonthani Province representing H.E. Manoonkrit Roopkhajorn, the Senate President. The Chairman of the Closing Ceremony was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yandej Tongsima, Advisor to the Prime Minister. On March 28th, 2003 all the participants attended a religious ceremony on the occasion of the 60th Birthday Anniversary of the World Peace Envoy, Ven. Ariyawanso Bhikkhu at Kuan Yin Inter-religious Park, Petchaburi Province. More than 700 people attended the function and jointly prayed to defuse the Persian Gulf war crisis, and also prayed for the following:
1. May an ‘Eternal Peace’ prevail on earth in the near future.
2. May all mankind be religious and closer to their faiths and may all religions Last very long in the world.
3. May the world be the repository of religious teachings, not destructive weapons and may all mankind solve their world problems by peaceful means, not through the use of weapons.
4. May all mankind use their mental powers in peaceful ways, not in killing each other, and may religious teachings lead the world.
5. May natural disasters threatening the planet earth decrease and disappear very soon.
6. May all the bad things destined for the world be converted into good results.
7. May His Majesty the King of Thailand live in happiness, free from any sickness, and live a very long life for at least 84 years and continue to be the protecting pillar of the Thai people for a very long, long time.
8. May all the heads of state in the world, religious and peace leaders live in happiness and prosperity, have good health and enjoy strong mind power for leading peace and happiness to all their people and mankind.
9. May the war to happen in the Persian Gulf not escalate to World War III, and may the war, if it happens, end in the Persian Gulf at the earliest possible opportunity.
10. May our prayers produce effective results immediately. The Second Persian Gulf War lasted till May 1st, 2003. President George
Bush Jr. announced the end of the heavy attack on Iraq. On December 14th, 2003, President Saddam Hussein was arrested in Tigrit, Iraq. After the U.S.A. announced the end of the Persian Gulf War, insurgents engaged in acts of terrorism abducted citizens of the U.S.A. and its allies as hostages, and used suicide bombers to attack soldiers of the U.S.A. and its allies in Iraq. The terrorism was not only intended to destroy the U.S.A. and its allied countries operating in Iraq, but also spreaded into those countries’ homeland as well.
8. To Prevent the Outbreak of World War III
(1) Prayer Power Helped the World
July 9th, 1999 Ven. Ariyawanso suggested to build a room to linked with the universe for followers to pray and to gather forces of the universe. He performed a ceremony to enshrine sacred objects under the base of the globe in this room linking it with the universe to be able to receive the universal power because 10 stars/planets would align on May 5th, 2000 and would change the world’s magnetic field. He suggested the chanting of Sutras of “Mongkol Chakraval” and “Jinna Panjara.” He explained that the universe had two forces, white and black. The room linked with the universe’s white force. The people who were tired or physically weak (not sick due to past negative action) could come to sit in this room and be cured. The sickness of past negative action must be cured by correcting the karma (past action). The persons who could not focus their thoughts or ran out of ideas could come to absorb white force in this room where supreme force of gods would be prevalent. It would be better if they had the ‘blessed universe medal’ with them They would enjoy greater benefits as they would receive ideas unthought of before from aliens.
On November 7th, 1999, the Great Masters, through Ven. Ariyawanso, informed that at that time the world’s magnetic field was not stable. If it moved by 3 degrees, what would happen? It had to be stabilized or next year Tsunami tidal waves might emanate from the south of the Indian Ocean. The waves would be gigantic. Thailand must allow some lossto happen. At this time, Indian divinities complained that it was not fair that Thailand always escaped the destruction. Only time would prove us and they then would understand us. Would the 1999 booklet be published or not? After this intervention from the Great Masters, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pichai Tovivich compiled relevant data in the booklet “A.D.1999: the World in Disaster, B.E. 2542: the Ways for Survival.” The followers then printed and distributed more than 1 million copies to the general public. The action tipped the balance of natural disaster causing the Tsunami waves foretold by the Great Masters to be delayed. The actual great disaster of Tsunami happened on December 26th, 2004 from the coast of the Andaman Sea. Destructions struck 6 countries: Indonesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh and the Maldives Islands with more than 300,000 deaths, and the loss to property was beyond estimation.
On November 19th, 1999, Ven. Ariyawanso Bhikkhu explained that the earthquake in Turkey (on August 19th, 1999) with a magnitude of 7.4 on the Richter Scale and in Taiwan (in September 1999) with a 7.7 on the Richter Scale) occurred because they were in line of the world magnet’s vibration. It caused rainfall. The dams in Thailand were not affected because heavenly devas helped protect them. We destroyed nature. Now nature was destroying us. We had to realize this fact.
Ven. Ariyawanso suggested a solution: “the world’s magnetic field was unstable, how do we stop it from moving? The Prayer Project must gather at least 1 million prayers and 1 million ‘blessed universe medals’ must be distributed to 1 million people, then the world will be peaceful.”
On May 5th, 2000, at 14.00 hrs., the date when astronomists and scientists predicted that 10 stars/planets would aligh into a straight line, scientists said this would have no effect on the Earth.
Ven. Ariyawanso Bhikkhu, representative of gods or the World of Divinity told followers who worked for the Spiritual World to know that May 5th, 2000 was the day to decide the fate of the Earth because at 15.00 hrs., stars and planets would move to align themselves. If they were all on a straight line, there would be less danger. But if they were not on a straight line, 5 stars/planets were on a crossed line (creating a symbol of death), this would cause great danger to the world. With their concerns for the world, the Great Masters told Ven. Ariyawanso to lead the praying session twice a day: at 15.00 hrs. and 19.00hrs. at the room linked with the universe. And on every Friday at 18.00 hrs., the followers must attend this special session of praying Jinna Panjara Suttra together in the room.
The Great Masters told us through Ven. Ariyawanso that the event of the stars/planets coming into straight line of this time might cause the world’s magnetic field to move until August, then it would be more stable. But the magnetic field would not stop moving until the year 2002, it would just move less. The world’s situation was still not good. The Great Masters then advised the followers to conduct group praying and employ their will determination for 12 years. In the room linked with the universe, the followers should practice the Dhammas of perseverance, mercy, and equanimity which would help delay the destruction of the world. This would: 1. help all world beings, 2. help the world to be in peace and we would also be peaceful, and 3. help keep Buddhism to last 5,000 years as predicted by the Buddha. We would help save the world, the universe, the country and the religion.
On May 11th, 2000, the Great Masters told us through Ven. Ariyawanso who led the wishing prayers that on that day the world’s magnetic fields moved strongly, but the world was unaffected because of the aliens’ help. From May 5th-June 24th, the stars would align in a straight line, and there would be a kind of disease from other stars spreading into the world. When patients went to see the doctor, he would not be able to accurately diagnose the problem.
June 9th, 2000, Ven. Ariyawanso led the followers to do the wishing prayers and told them that their prayers to lessen the effects of the stars was a success. At that time those stars splitted away and returned to ordinary orbiting on June 24th. Not only our group that prayed, there was the same action taken at the Vatican City and at Islamic cities too. He suggested, “the wishing prayers will be successful if the mind is pure and mainly calm. When the mind is purely calm, the bright mind would join as one without any interference. This state of mind is powerful, enough to lift itself higher to bring success in its desire to help the world.”
The Great Masters, through Ven. Ariyawanso, told the followers who jointly worked for the Spiritual World that on June 24th, 2000 at 14.30 hrs., the stars/planets would return to their normal orbit but the world magnetic field would not stop moving.
June 24th, 2000, Ven. Ariyawanso came to join the followers in praying once more to save the world from being disintegrated.
The group of followers working for the Spiritual World organized a Brahminic rite to thank Devas and Brahmas in heaven, especially the powerful spirits all over the endless universe who exerted their forces for the 10 stars to revolve to their normal path.
Every Friday, the followers prayed at the room linked with the universe but gained too little strength which made Ven. Ariyawanso uneasy because it did not reach the target set out by Devas and Brahmas in heaven, too little to save the world from crisis.
(2) Let Hooppha Sawan and Samnak Poo Sawan Fall in Order that
the Survival of Thailand be Ascertained
1982-1986 was the period when the World Peace Envoy took refuge in a quiet and safe place. The group of followers who worked for the Spiritual World still joined together to pray at Hooppha Sawan and did meritorious activities at Samnak Poo Sawan, while another group of followers filed suit to seek justice in the court.
When the World Peace Envoy came out of his refuge, he told his followers that the Spiritual World let him choose between the safety of Thailand and that of Samnak Poo Sawan and Hooppha Sawan. He decided for the safety of Thailand because Samnak Poo Sawan and Hooppha Sawan were built by the donation of the Thai people. If he had chosen for the survival of Samnak Poo Sawan and Hooppha Sawan, Thailand would fall under Communism. Then where would the Thai people migrate to? Where would Samnak Poo Sawan and Hooppha Sawan be? If Hooppha Sawan fell, it could find a new site to rebuild, but the fall of the country was harder to rescue.
By that reason, he agreed for Samnak Poo Sawan and Hooppha Sawan to fall and all properties confiscated. At that time, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia were occupied by Communists and foreign analysts predicted that Thailand would certainly be the next to fall under the domino theory. But everything was not as expected when the World Peace Envoy let Hooppha Sawan fall. Thailand was saved from being under Communism. Thai people, especially the rich were not killed and did not need to flee. Thais did not kill and destroy fellow Thais. The World Peace Envoy agreed to lose his fame and reputation as well as the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan in order to protect Thailand’s safety.
However, the World Peace Envoy felt regretted because he could not prove whether the Communists would keep their words. This was because before his downfall and that of Hooppha Sawan, in May 1980, the Voice of the People’s of Thailand, a radio station operated by the Communist Party of Thailand broadcast its attack on Dr. Suchart and announced that if by 1981, they could not destroy Dr. Suchart and Hooppha Sawan, the Party would no longer be a Communist. It spent 4 million bahts to destroy Dr. Suchart and 600 million baths to break up Hooppha Sawan. In the night of December 29th, 1981 the order to closedown Hooppha Sawan was issued. The next day, December 30th, when the District Officer of Pak Tho brought the order to Hooppha Sawan, the World Peace Envoy asked the officer to delay it to after December 31st, so he would be able to prove the words of the Communist Party of Thailand. But the officer did not agree. Later the Great Masters told us that it was a result of past bad deed of the country and of the world, we could not change causing the government of that period to misunderstand the project of holding the world peace conference and to close down Hooppha Sawan.
(3) Balance the Karma (Past Action) to Delay the Next World War
1986 was the year when Halley’s Comet appeared. The World Peace Envoy who was in refuge sent a new year message to his followers and people who fairly treated Hooppha Sawan that: “1986 is the most dangerous year for the world in the circle of 76 years especially for Thailand. If all of us can jointly balance the past negative action of Thailand and the world by practicing the Dhamma of suffering and jointly organize the project of mental forces to stop the military forces, it is believed that after this year, the world will be better. The Third World War will be postponed for another 14 years, allowing enough time for humans to cooperate and work for peace of the world.”
The Devas and Brahmas organized the ceremony of balancing past negative action of Thailand to prevent bloodshed and the deterioration of the country’s economy. If foreign countries did not trust the situation, they would withdraw their investment and the country’s general situation would deteriorate. At the same time, the Great Masters came to restrain the World War and to prevent the world economy from becoming worse. If all the feared situations materialized, lots of people would be killed and we might destroy the world because there were many weapons of mass destruction, ready for use.
Later, on June 29th, 1986, the World Peace Envoy came out of his refuge, surrendered himself for defending his law suits and was granted a bail.
On July 19th, 1986, the followers organized a home-coming ceremony for the World Peace Envoy, Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong at Samnak Poo Sawan with Dr. Reinhart Ruge, President of the World Constitution and Parliament Association (WCPA) and Dr. T.P. Amerasinghe, Vice-President of WCPA participated as honorary guests.
On October 9th, 1986, followers of Samnak Poo Sawan started the Project of Praying for 180 days to dedicate merit to H.M. the King on the auspicious occasion of His 60th Birthday Anniversary on December 5th, 1986.
After coming out of his refuge from 1984-1990, the World Peace Envoy was invited to attend foreign conferences and also at the United Nations. He organized 12th-21st Religious Missions to attend conferences. In 1991, he led the 22nd Religious Mission, the last one, on a pilgrimage in India, Nepal and Tibet.
The World Peace Envoy planned to continue the Project of the World Eternal Peace Conference which the Great Masters wanted it to accomplish real world peace and to prevent a nuclear World War III. Though the Spiritual World allowed the World Peace Envoy and a group of followers to practice the Dhamma on suffering according to the 2nd intention of a Would-be Buddha (that a Bodhisattva would bare the sufferings for all beings without fear) in order to balance the past negative action for the Third World War to be delayed for 14 years, the real peace was still yet to be realized.
The World Peace Envoy said about world peace, “It must be understood that to have peace we must do as described in the booklet, ‘the Last Hope of Mankind.’ If we fail to do accordingly, peace will not be realized because all parties have their own defilements and selfishness. We have given them a handbook to follow to have peace. To be successful or not depends on whether they would continue to do it. Now that many countries have this book translated into their own languages, so it is not totally useless.” The World Peace Envoy talked about the situation of the country, “the situation of our country and of our everyday life hangs by a thread, only the Triple Gem and divinity can be our refuge.” Also “the situation of the country and the world will be better after 2007.”
But in 1991, the World Peace Envoy was sacked for the second time. This could be considered as the country’s and its leaders’ karmic acts that obstructed the work of the Spiritual World and the world peace as well. The World Peace Envoy felt sorry that he might either made a wrong decision or overloved Thailand. This was because in 1987, he went to the U.S.A. and met Dr. Maurice and Mrs. Strong who offered him a piece of land and a fund for him to build a religious land in Baca Grand. He then went to register the Thai-Theravada Foundation in the U.S.A. in preparation for continuing the project of the World Eternal Peace Conference there. But Dr. Maurice Strong asked him to stay permanently in the U.S.A. Because of his love for Thailand and his desire to bring fame to Thailand, and of his freedom and liberty, and of being himself, he did not give back any answer.
At present (2005) Dr. Maurice Strong was a special advisor of H.E. Dr. Kofi Annan, Secretary-General of the United Nations. At Mrs. Strong’s invitation, the Baca Grand religious land was built, developed and finished by various religious leaders.
Anyhow, the World Peace Envoy hoped that one day a Thai leader who was religious and appreciated him and his work would come to perform a ceremony asking for forgiveness from Devas and Brahmas and clear the name of Hooppha Sawan, so that they would help Thailand and help humans to co-exist peacefully in the real global peace.
From 1981 when Hooppha Sawan and Samnak Poo Sawan were ordered close, Devas and Brahmas gave more time until 2004 (23 years) for the people in power to make things right. Then it would be too late.
Success from Making Truthful Vows
On November 28th, 1999, the World Peace Envoy, Ven. Ariyawanso (Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong) told his followers about the importance of making truthful vows and prayers. In1981 when Hooppha Sawan was facing crisis, and policemen searching his living place to arrest him, he made his first truthful vow that: “If all will end by now, let them take me. If it won’t end, may they not see me.” And the World Peace Envoy left Hooppha Sawan to take refuge for four and a half years.
In1986, after leaving his refuge, he made his second truthful vow. “We will endeavour until the last minute. If we can restore activities and reputation of followers, I am willing to reduce my life span for 10 years.” He had Ariyasaj Si Building built, and established the Samnak Poo Sawan Fellows’ Society for followers to continually work for the objectives of Samnak Poo Sawan along the path of a Would-be Buddha.
In 1995, the followers pleaded with him to come out of the forest to build up the Kuan Yin Inter-religious Park, in Petchaburi Province. Upon the start of its construction, he made his third truthful vow: “May the Park be accomplished very soon, and I will depart this world.”
Facing With Khandha Mara (Health Decline)
After leaving his refuge in 1986, the World Peace Envoy was not very healthy. Before taking his refuge he was strong and in good health. But after that, he went to see a doctor for a health check. The result was that he had many illnesses: heart illness, high blood pressure, gaut, liver ailment, osteomalacia and diabetes etc. The doctor’s suggestion was for him to rest completely, and even drinking liquids would require help from others.
Apart from physical sickness, his inner entity was also damaged. He was hurt in the eyes, heart and brains by psychic forces of the men who used black forces to destroy the Challenger spacecraft. Moreover, 30 thousand black psychic houses also concentrated their attack on him all at once. But with the mercy of the divinity who protected him, and with his strong will and noble intention to save humankind and the world, he could fight and survive the danger.
Regarding his being attacked by black magic forces, Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong wrote a personal note dated 1st March 1987 to Judge Chalermchai Jarupaibul, Secretary General for Specific Affairs as follows:-
“… the black magic forces at present attacked Kong (Grandfather) heavily in the eyes, heart and brains. I think I have to fight in an abstract way until March passed and it would then be better. At this moment I am writing this note with a blurry mind. Although this is a serious fight, you need not be worried. I think that next month I will try to find a place for observing the precepts and meditation. At present they have sent strong psychic forces to attack me both at the Samnak Poo Sawan and Hooppha Sawan. At first, I thought that in March I would travel to neighboring countries. But because of my appointments with the court in March, so I must stay in Thailand.”
December 25th, 1998 the Great Masters announced the World Peace Envoy’s illnesness to followers as follows:
“He Suchart Kosolkitiwong (Ariyawanso) tells nobody about it because he is afraid that you will be worried. Today, it is time to disclose it to you. When you know the truth, how do you feel?
The rule of Aniccam, Anatta, Vata Sangkhara. Each body is impermanent.
From a young man, strong and handsome.
When Samdej (Toh)’s soul possessed him, 95
He must sacrifice his body, mind and life together with his soul.
As honest and true servant as there ever was.
To do everything on time to solve world problems.
Do everything the Great Masters desired.
He had to take refuge, confine himself for his safety.
Nowadays you have seen him, why is this?
For his achievements, foreigners praised his high ability.
As for them they would need at least 300 years.
33 years of great work and now his body almost turning into soil.
He becomes a sick old man.
His body has been checked by Jivaka Komarbhatr and Hua Toh of the Three Kingdoms (Sam Kok)( who were first class doctors of their time.)
His sickness at present:-
1. High Blood Pressure
2. Cholesterol obstructed blood vessels of the heart
3. Gout
4. Diabetes
5. Intestine sickness
6. Hepatitis
7. Low white blood cells
8. Eyesight deficiency
9. The beginning of dementia
10. Nephritis
“For what would he live? Be kind enough to give an answer.”
After passing 50 years of age, his physical body became ill and weak from his
several sicknesses. He tried to keep himself in good shape and told himself that he was not sick though sometimes he had no strength to clip his nails or to take a glass of water to his mouth.
The Great Masters told us that his diseases could not be cured even with special medicines from Doctor Jivaka and Doctor Hua Toh. They wanted him to pay all his debts of past life in this present life because in the future he would be born a Would-be Buddha (Bodhisattva) and would do the work of the Spiritual World once again to restore Buddhism in the year B.E. 3000.
In 1998, the Great Masters suggested that we watch the movie of Sam Kok (The Three Kingdoms), the section of Kong Beng (Chu-ko Liang) prolonging his life. They also suggested that the World Peace Envoy engage in deep meditation and forbade absolutely any disturbance to cure his body to become stronger. The Great Masters have made a ceremony of prolonging the World Peace Envoy’s life to last for 75 years. But because of his concerns about his religious work, he did not complete his practises according to the Great Masters’ suggestion.
On February 6th, 1999, the World Peace Envoy gave a message to the committee of followers informing them of his decision to cure himself for 3 years. The text of the message was:
“May you be as strong as a cliff.
Do not believe in rumours that will follow.
All my business is accomplished,
I must leave for a far more greater one.
That is to practice my mind and soul,
To attain the path aimed.
After the feast, there must be a farewell.
Now I am already sixty years of age,
When I think I’ll go, then I’ll go. When I think I’ll come, I’ll come.
Exactly like my name: the saint with no shadow.
To depart when alive is worthy.
Next chance, we’ll meet again.
To depart when dead is nothing,
No chance to meet one another again.
When my age is sixty years old,
And I don’t answer back, you may then realize that,
I won’t return and will return no more.
See you again in Dusit Heaven.”
The World Peace Envoy, Ven. Ariyawanso Bhikkhu took precepts for 3 months of Lent in 2000. With his care for followers who carried out the work of the Spiritual World, he gave a message to Assoc.Prof. Dr. Phichai Tovivich, President of Samnak Poo Sawan Fellows’ Society to read in the meeting on September 1st, 2000 which said:
“Time passes swiftly as the flow of the river which has no return. At present I am restoring my health after going on a diet to rid all toxin from my body and am living according to the steps set by the Doctors of the Spiritual World. But I still care for all the followers who are doing the work of the Spiritual World. I think everyone should keep unity in order to succeed in working for the survival of humanity. There may be conflicts as always for humans but when everybody is in the boat of a Would-be Buddha, you should forgive one another. I hope to come out in October to see some progress made. Though I am not here to supervise the work, it must be a progress more or less. Everybody is a sacrificer. If you don’t sacrifice yoursrlf, you’d better stay home. Everybody has different past action. To do work to help the world means to make great merit to be of very great use in your next life.”

The World Peace Envoy did not take care of himself for 3 years as the Great Masters wanted him to change karma (past action) for various reasons. This made his body weaken day by day but with his perseverance, high patience and strong will, he could fight against Khandha Mara without losing heart for many years, unknown to followers. They only knew from the Great Masters that his body was sick, unwell.
Life’s Anguished Works First Part
January 5th, 1982, a group of 50 policemen and 15 border patrol police officers entered the World Peace Envoy’s room in the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan to arrest him but they could not find him. When they left, the World Peace Envoy departed Hooppha Sawan and planned to surrender himself to the police. His followers advised against his intention and told him that his enemies paid a lot of money to put fault on him and dead men could not speak. Then he had to take refuge for four years and six months.
In 1986 which the UN announced it to be the First International Year of Peace, the World Peace Envoy left his refuge and surrendered himself to prove his innocence in the Court of Justice. There were vehicles chasing along his car to him. He told us of a story, “Once when I was in a court session. the deputy police commander of Petchaburi gave a testimony that he was ordered to follow and watch the movements of Dr. Suchart and to kill him. He used his rifle telescope to quietly watch Dr. Suchart. The first time, looking through the telescope, he saw Dr. Suchart walking up from a boat to the island. He also saw 4-5 monks following Dr. Suchart from behind. He was afraid to shoot because he might kill other monks as well which would commit heavy sins. So he dared not pill the trigger. Another time he was ordered to shoot both the monks and Dr. Suchart. He had Dr. Suchart in his rifle sights and saw him walking up to the island with 3 monks leading in the front and 3 monks each walking along his sides. He dared not shoot again. At last he did not want to commit sin, so he resigned from his post and moved away from Petchaburi to live elsewhere.”
-The Pure Innocence Would Withstand Any Proof
There were several legal cases filed against Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong personally. The following details and exerpts were taken from the book , “Yone Adeed” (Retrospection) pages 122-124:
- In 1986, Black Case No. 984/2529, the official of the Attorney General Office of Ratchaburi Province acted as the plaintiff filing the case against Dr. Suchart accusing him of wrong doing by enchroaching a protected national archaeological site and making alterations without permission.
The Court cleared the defendant of the charge, and the suit was dropped.
- Black Case no. 1589/2529, the official of the Attorney General Office of Ratchaburi Province acted as the plaintiff filing the case against Dr. Suchart accusing him of occupying the state land without permission. The Provincial Court of Ratchaburi decided that the defendant was guilty of enchroaching the state land with a penalty of one year imprisonment. The defendant and his followers had to vacate the place in question, and all their tools, provisions, as well as buildings to be confiscated.
The Appeal Court reversed the decision of the lower court, clearing the defendant of
the charge.
The Supreme Court decided in favour of the decision of the Appeal Court.
- Black Case no. 1588/2529, the official of the Attorney General Office as the plaintiff filing the case against Dr. Suchart on libel by printing materials.
The court decided that the defendant was clear of the charge. The case was dropped.
- Black Case no. 880/2529, the official of the Attorney General Office of the Ratchaburi Province acted as the plaintiff filing the case against Dr. Suchart accusing him of encroaching the land in the National Park, and possessing illegally plank wood.
The court decided that the defendant was innocent of the charge. The case was dropped.
- Black Case no. 881/2529, the official of the Attorney General Office (Case Section, Dhonburi Province) acted as the plaintiff filing the case against Dr. Suchart accusing him of jointly causing others to commit wrong-doing by ordering, hiring, asking others to publish illegal materials.
The court cleared the defendant of the charge. The case was dropped.

No suit was filed against Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong on a charge of committing a Communist act endangering the national stability, or an act of lese-majesty, and a possession of military weapons as alleged in the mass media in the past.
Ven. Ariyawanso referred to those allegations that, “They were made-up accusations and there was no way for me to clear my name.” This made him bitterly sad because he worked for the survival of the country and of the world, but was accused by the media of destroying the national stability. He fought against the Communists to prevent Thailand from being a Communist state, but was accused of committing a Communist act himself.
Ven. Ariyawanso still felt that some luck was with him as many military topbrass understood him as Field Marshal Prapas Charusatien who participated in ceremonies at Hooppha Sawan many times said, “If Suchart was a communist, Thailand would be finished already.” And General Thongcherm Sangkhavanich who had traveled to attend ceremonies at Hooppha Sawan said, “If this man destroyed the Thai national stability, Thailand would already collapsed. And I would be the first one to arrest him. I had sent my men to be insiders there.”
Regarding the news of finding weapons in the pond in front of the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan, when the officials went to check, they found that these weapons were registered to a border patrol police unit in Ratchaburi Province. This unit was ordered to ‘dump’ the weapons inside the pond making up the incident to put up charges against him. At that time he must defend himself against the state power, mass media power and black magic from 30 thousand houses of black magic which jointly focused their attacks on him.
Moreover, the same men who used black forces to destroy the Challenger spacecraft in 1986 also tried to harm him. Day and night they attacked by trying to damage his eyes, brains and heart because he disclosed the use of psychic war between the U.S.A. and the Soviet Union. This made him sick in both his physical body and inner entity. But he still stood firm to fight to protect the religion and world peace. He proved himself by using the purity of Buddhism in his fighting against the black magic force. From 1986-1991, the World Peace Envoy came out to fight his personal legal cases in the court and all the cases were cleared. At the same time, he moved forward to working for the survival of humanity and world peace.
They fell him for the second time in March 1991 because of the Government’s misunderstanding that he would set up the World Government. Anyhow that government itself fell over the situation of the Black May Incident of May 1992 which saw the third bloodshed in Thailand
Second Part.
The second period when the World Peace Envoy felt depressed was in 1991 after his ordination. They put up a 4 million bahts prize to monitor his movement and to defame him.
In 1992, during the Buddhist Lent, he asked for permission from his preceptor to practise monkhood Dhamma and meditate in solitude in the forest. By misunderstanding the officials still harassed him there. He then had to lead his monkhood life with uncertainty, coming and going from the forest secretly.
From 1999-2004, some state officials sent gunmen to intimidate him by firing shots at his living place, sometimes they sent men to keep him under surveillance.
THE SPIRITUAL WORLD STOPPED ITS WORK
On February 2nd, 1997 the Great Masters spoke through Ven. Ariyawanso Bhikkhu to the fellow working group members that the works of the Divine Mission was successful in two areas:
1. The world protection was completed.
2. The work to protect Thailand was also completed.
Later in 1998 the Great Masters gave warning to people to know that nature
would punish humans as humans had destroyed unjustly the balance of nature, the world’s environment as well as the balance of the stars and universe.
On December 19th, 2004, the Great Masters told people through Ven. Ariyawanso that this was their last time to preach at the Pavilion of the Pu Sawan Temple where the Miniature Peace Pagoda was situated, in the praying ceremony to worship the Peace Pagoda on the 19th of every month. On December 24th, 2004, the World Peace Envoy, Ven. Ariyawanso was abruptly admitted in a hospital, before the reading of the last divine message of Devas and Brahmas concerning the meteors that would collide with the Earth. He entrusted a follower to act on his behalf on December 25th, 2004.
On December 26th, 2004, a terrible incident of a massive earthquake of 9.5 points on the Richter Scale and the tsunami wave occurred in Indonesia and the Andaman sea with more than 300,000 deaths in several countries including Indonesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, India, the Maldives, and Bangladesh etc. In Thailand, 6 provinces were attacked by Tsunami gigantic waves. The World Peace Envoy said in 1999: “Tsunami waves will occur in the south and come up from the Indian Ocean. The waves will be gigantic. Thailand has to lose some, we can’t always be spared.” … “We have destroyed nature, nature will destroy us. We have to understand this problem.”…”If anything happens, the responsibility will fall on Samnak Poo Sawan.”
An analyst said that the World Peace Envoy sacrificed his life to balance the bad karma (past action) of Thailand which limited the devastations to the South of Thailand caused by the earthquake’s gigantic tsunami waves. He also balanced the bad karma of the world which was on a colliding path with meteors on February 14th, 2005 (as the saying of the Great Masters of the Spiritual World) so that Buddhism will last 5000 years.
On December 31st, 2004 and January 1st, 2005 Ven. Ariyawanso Bhikkhu came out of the forest to join the New Years Eve and the New Year Celebration with his followers as if to foretell the 7 days left before his death. Although his followers did not agree with him to come because he was not well, he still asked to come. He himself foretold on March 28, 1998. “Before leaving this world, I will tell you seven days in advance.”
On Friday January 7th, 2005, Ven. Ariyawanso Bhikkhu passed away, leaving this world abruptly because of hydropic pneumonosis, at Petcharatch Hospital, Petchaburi Province at 18.00 hrs.
It was altogether 40 years that Ven. Ariyawanso Bhikkhu (Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong), the World Peace Envoy, the devine representative, worked for the Great Masters of the Spiritual World.
The Spiritual World stopped its work in the human world when Ven. Ariyawanso Bhikkhu passed away to return to the World of Divinity. It is high time for humans to help fellow humans. This is for our own survival, not the survival of Devas and Brahmas. Definitely they will not abandon humans, it is humans who abandon them.
HIS POSITIONS
Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong possessed of special characteristics so he was chosen by the Great Masters to do the work of the Spiritual World to save humanity and the world. He had high mental power with superb genius, magnificent sagacity and resourcefulness. He was a man of knowledge who was fond of studying, researching, following news and world situations to be situationally aware. He was a philosopher, good-tempered, taking others’ feelings into consideration, clean, disciplined, able to measure the others’ minds, highly responsible, highly intuitive without showing off, kind-hearted, generously helpful, optimistic, diligent, forgiving with high tolerances, visionary, firmly truthful, and resolute. When he gave his vow to work for the Great Masters, he never broke his word.
When Mr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong’s effective work was widely known both in Thailand and abroad, some requested him to do more works.
He served in many positions both secular and spiritual. They were:

SOME VIEWS OF THE WORLD PEACE ENVOY
The following quotations are the views of the World Peace Envoy Hon. Suchart Kosolkitiwong expressed in meetings both in Thailand and abroad:-
- Peace must be above all political idealisms, so our advisors are from both Free
Democratic and Communist blocs.
- Peace can emerge through mental/meditation power, not military power.
- Only through religions can a world war be prevented. The only problem left
is what we shall do to make all religious leaders worldwide instruct human beings all over the world to be religious to their faith.
- No matter who they are, Lord Buddha, Lord Jesus Christ or Prophet
Muhammad, they never taught religious people to hate one another.
- In the past, we let the military men try to solve the world conflicts, our world had
to experience the great wars for two times; we let the politicians try to solve the problems, our world was divided into two blocs: the Communist World and the Free World; we let the economists try to solve the problems, our society has to fallen into two classes: the Haves and the Have-nots. They are so far unable to solve the endless human conflict. Therefore, it is the right time that worldwide religious leaders have to consolidate their efforts to work together to pressure unrighteous people to realize and respect the value of human life on earth, in order to cooperate in establishing the world lasting peace for mankind.
- Peace work is a great work to which men do not pay attention. Making war
is an evil work but men give it their fullest attention.
- People of the whole world want peace but only a minority wants war; they are state leaders and scientists.
- The present world – the one which has now been divided into three major parts-
namely, Asia which believes in strong leadership: Europe in philosophy and America in public opinion.
- If it is God’s work, God will give His blessfull help.
- It is the duty of religious people to truly join hands; in my opinion, they
can establish for mankind the world’s lasting peace and they could remind secular leaders to change their minds to accumulate religious teachings, not destructive weapons. That is the work the International Federation of Religions is doing now.
- We believe that if all religious leaders both in the West and the East are strongly united and use this power to enforce secular leaders to change their minds, peace will be
obtained.
- Men may differ in languages but they may understand one another spiritually and thoughtfully. We can then take these creative ideas and work towards a lasting global peace.
- The world of today is heating up, it is high time that religious leaders step in. Religions have never taught mankind to make war and fight each other but wars occur because men fail to have religious beliefs and do not realize the nature and the truth of their human life.
- The world we are facing today cannot be in peace because people do not realize the spirituality and fail to be religious to their faith. We devote our life and soul in fear and destructive ways. We do not use them in creative ways and do not seek free time to make our life and mind peaceful. We jointly produced lots to nourish our body but produce nothing for purifying our mind for lessening the greed, hatred and illusive defilements. The older we are, the more cravings we have. It is called in Christianity the mind possessed by Satan. It is not the mind for creating the world. So it is regrettable that we pay a great sum of money for making destructive weapons for war but there is no budget for developing our minds, creating peace and better our lives.
- The work of God is the work for peace, not the work of war for peace.
- Why were men born? For what purpose does our life exist? Where shall we go after death? We must consider these first … All life must end, so there is no use fighting with one another. When this problem can be solved, the problems of economics, politics and weapons will drop. To destroy nuclear weapon factories will make the conference for disarmament easier.
- In fact, the confusion in the world comes from the hands of about a thousand men, that is, not more than two hundred secular leaders, not less than three hundred religious leaders and not less than five hundred scientific leaders. How can we change their minds to have moral shame and moral dread, have sincerity to fellow beings, to stop to consider, have consciousness above emotion and not to let emotion be above consciousness?
- When the United Nations was established, they neglected to put religion in the Charter, so there is confusion these days. They now seek cooperation from non-governmental organizations worldwide which are religious organizations with aims for peace.
- The United Nations have solved the world’s problem by material ways for a long time. But various situations overwhelm them so much that material solutions are delayed. Their opinion is that if they can integrate a philosophy from the other world, the situation may become better. Peace Envoy Suchart Kosolkitiwon answered immediately, “I think I have found it. It is the religious power which each religion has in abundance. If we are able to make all religions join their efforts to solve world situation according to your words, there will be an immense power above all other powers in the world.
- Peace, fraternity and friendship are highly desired by all human beings. But men often act in the opposite direction. Why? Because men fall under bad environments. Men with greedy desires never trust one another and always make armaments to fight each other. It is therefore the duty of both religious and peace activists to combine their efforts for attaining the ultimate solution.
- Speaking of peace in general, in order to create peace it is essential to have loving-kindness and mutual love among mankind. Loving-kindness, according to the Buddhist way, is the Dhamma to support the world. If a man lacks loving-kindness, he is selfish, self-seeking and unsympathetic. Love means to love all things, all creatures and even enemies. When we have love, our mind and soul are cheerful. That is, our mind and soul do not take revenge on anybody; we transmit a positive stream, known as the stream of purity. That is another way of peace as there are several forms of peace, such as peace for one-self, peace for the family, peace for the village, peace for the district, peace for the province, then peace for the nation and peace for the world. These are the links in the chain of peace. These links should be practised seriously and sincerely. It is not that peace should exist only momentarily, in the International Year of Peace and in the International Week of Peace then no more. Having peace for only this year and this week is not the true meaning of peace.
- Peace must be observed continually as a chain and our mind and soul must be raised up with the Buddha’s teachings of loving-kindness, compassion, sympathetic joy and equanimity for and toward all sentient beings so that true peace may be achieved. May I reaffirm once again that peace cannot be obtained by the power of economic wealth. Neither can it be obtained by the power of arms, nor by the power of money. Peace in this world can be obtained only through religious power because religious power is the real power and every religion teaches people to live together peacefully. But the unpeaceful world is created by human defilements, not by texts of religions or texts of scriptures.
- How can we create human unity? As religious leaders, we have to encourage ourselves as well as our human friends to get closer with the right understandings of religion of our own beliefs. No religion in this world, in its true essence of teaching, preaches for disunity and violence.
With their deep realization of their own religion, their mind will be detached from false beliefs and they will realize the truth of life that, “By the result of deeds in the past lives, we are born as human friends of similar birth, old age, sickness, and death.”
In my opinion, unity among human beings can only be created through better understandings among ourselves. They have to get rid of their own misunderstandings and wrong thinking. When there is human unity, peace will prevail in the world of humankind.
- For extraordinary matters, humans can solve them all, if they are not too egoistic. But for ordinary matters of birth, old age, sickness, and death humans cannot avoid them as they are unavoidable facts of life.
- As a matter of fact we humans should realize that either later this year or early next year, disastrous fire and other natural disasters will definitely happen which will kill a whole lot of people. What can we do to rescue the world from disaster, to suffer only the least damage? It is assured that nature will punish the world. Why does nature seem to want to destroy the world? Because humans destroy nature by having made up nuclear weapons and rockets, when fired into the sky, have disturbed the environment and destroyed the ozone layer which has forced the seasons to change.
- We should realize that all the world’s humans are relatives of the same family. We should cherish love and unity. Each life lasts no longer than a hundred years, then death comes. We can laugh together, talk together, why should we be enemies? Why do we desire attachments. According to the principles of Buddhism: Dhukham, Aniccam, Anatta. Everything is suffering. Nothing stays stable forever. Nothing can be called exact and never changing. Everything is moving towards dissolving naturally.
- As a matter of fact, mental and spiritual or divine powers exist in every human body. If we use them properly, especially in mass quantities, they will benefit enormously the world and that mental and spiritual powers can halt natural disasters. Humans can plan or build anything successfully because of their mental and spiritual powers. We are convinced that the mental power and spiritual power can combine with the other activities of human beings. We are confident that the mental power and spiritual power of prayers with good will accumulated together can save the world from disasters.
- As a religious leader, I would like to propose the ways how religions can help save this world from imminent environmental dangers. The world is now in danger because human beings are defiled with greed, anger, and delusion. They have gone too far of making a project to dump the nuclear waste into space which is causing atmospheric pollution around the world. We must realize these dangers and help save this beautiful planet by explaining about the dangers regarding negative climate change. The testing of nuclear weapons will destroy forests and water ways. Religion teaches human beings to have a frugal will and peaceful life and to live with nature. They should be taught to conserve the environment, forests, water ways and the natural atmosphere of the world.
- I do believe that if we still continue to ignore the conservation of the environment, and if trees are not sufficiently planted within five years, the temperature in Thailand will rise to 45 degrees Celsius. At that level, the blood will boil in the body and, may I ask, how can human beings survive?
On the occasion of the Praying Ceremony for World Peace on the Hiroshima Day, I appeal to all people of the world, to stop thinking of destroying each other, to stop destroying nature and the forests. They should together save the environment and hurry themselves to initiate adequate reforestation.
- scholars of religious scriptures such as the Tripitaka, the Koran, or the Bible must realize that there will be a doomsday either by great floods or by great wars. The present situation in the world may create a time bomb for the outbreak of the Third World War. Whether the world will be saved by the mercy of Supreme Power or not will depend on human beings. May all of us who are Buddhists, Muslims, Christians, Hindus, Sikhs, or believers of any religion, join harmoniously in praying for the safety of the world and the survival of mankind from both great floods and great world wars. Let’s pray that whatever disasters break out the threat to humans or non-humans will be minimal.
- Everyday, the world has no peace because human beings do not consider their
self-realization. The principle of Buddhism is so called to consider the body in body, mind in mind and spirit in spirit. All Buddhists have forgotten and do not consider the Truth. So the world is in more and more disorder. All people say that they respect God but they kill each other for a bigger purpose than God. Why? Because when human beings are possessed by delusion and hatred, their consciousess and wisdom will be wiped out. They will only think for getting, getting and getting without thinking for giving. These things are the teachings that Buddhists should propagate to all mankind to have consciousness rule over emotion, not let emotion rule over consciousness.
- I am confident that it is the right time that all the world people must cooperate to solve all problems for a better world. Otherwise, the world might face natural disasters, such as the big flood and the universe war. The Universal Supreme Beings of both Venus and Mars have spiritually contacted through me that they might invade the planet earth more quickly because human did not recognize their warning. So I request for your cooperation after you return to your homeland, may you continue propagating the message of concentration of people to halt severe natural disasters, meditate and extend your loving-kindness to human worldwide and to all living beings of other universes. Meanwhile, may you pray for God’s blessings to save the world and bless mankind to live in tranquil happiness.

THE WORLD PEACE ENVOY’S QUALITIES
The majority of followers and people who had opportunities to work closely with the World Peace Envoy in public charitable events agreed that he possessed of the following high characters:
1. He had a resolute determination to implement the ideally objectives without losing heart, even though he was obstructed by religious opponents and groups holding different viewpoints.
2. He was full of dedication in working for the betterment of the humanity especially
the acquirement of the world eternal peace based on religious foundations. The World Peace Envoy tried by every means to create peace. When the work inside the country was obstructed, he brought his ideas to the NGOs in the United Nations, and to prominent religious and peace organizations. Those organizations accepted his ideas to be implemented further.
3. He had high mental power. The followers or sick people who felt hopeless after receiving treatments in the hospital came to him for help. He gave them his mental therapy, and many were cured.
4. He had insightful vision. Those who had the chance to talk with or ask him questions knew well that the World Peace Envoy could give clear answers to the questions both in secular and in Dhamma subjects. This made his biography compiler questioned him how he became knowledgeable in many fields of knowledges. His answer was that when the Spiritual World sent him to be the World Peace Envoy, they then provided him with deep insights useful to human societies.
The said characters of the World Peace Envoy was not only recognized among his followers, help seekers, and those who worked close to him but believers of other religions in Thailand and abroad were also impressed by his characters in the same way.
APPRECIATIONS TO THE WORLD PEACE ENVOY
In an opening speech, on October 19th, 1977, at the Exhibition of the Works of Religious Mission for Peace to the Vatican and Jerusalem, H.H. the Supreme Patriarch of the Thai Ecclesiastical Sangha Order (Vasna Vasno) said, “I feel that in Thailand everyone has access to religion, to the truth, and to understand the noble fact that the descending of every great founder of religions will occur when the world is in havoc of calamity. A devine messenger will descend down to help all beings get rid of their craving madness. I agree with you that the work of the Religious Land Hoopha Sawan is still new to the public. So it will naturally receive both praise and blame, according to one’s preference or dissatisfaction.
In this context, I wish to suggest that the Religious Missions for Peace should not be content with the already established inter-religious brotherhood cooperation. You should continue to strengthen further sincere harmony, mutual understanding, and friendly relationships among religions.”
In an audience with His Holiness Pope Paul VI at the Vatican City on May 11th, 1977, the World Peace Envoy Hon. Suchart Kosolkitiwong received kind words from His Holiness, “You are a man of creative thinkings, who not only thinks but also works on your thinking and which reached the Vatican City. Now, it is the dawn of peace and brotherhood. May the Almighty bless Thailand to be peaceful. Please also convey my best wishes to His Majesty the King of Thailand.”
His Holiness Sri Satguru Jagjit Singh Ji Maharaj, Supreme Leader of Namdhari Sikhs, while attending as Chairman of the Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony of the World Eternal Peace Conference Hall on October 19th, 1978, had addressed in part, “…The work for peace is not the duty of any particular government or organization. All countries must join hands to do this noble work. Peace is most important to all mankind in the human world which depends upon satisfaction of God, that is, God will let a personality do it. I personally have strong faith that H.E. the Peace Envoy Suchart Kosolkitiwong was blessed by wish of God to do this noble work on peace…”
The Most Rev. Bishop Pietro Carretto, President of the Episcopal Commission on Dialogue and Ecumenism in Thailand, said in his opening address on October 19th, 1977, at an Exhibition of Works of Religious Mission for Peace to the Vatican City and Jerusalem, “I firmly believe that Hon. Suchart Kosolkitiwong is a divine messenger to work for peace in this world in the name of Peace Envoy.”
Field Marshal Prapas Charusathiera, as Chairman of an Exhibition of 4 Religious Missions for Peace said in part of his opening address on October 19th, 1980, “I personally admire the intellectual capability of H.E. the Peace Envoy for his endeavours through personal perseverance and sacrifice. All his works known to me have been very successful. So, I also believe that his project for world peace will surely succeed. It is my hope that he will receive full co-operation and support with mutual content of world citizens for they, too, want world peace. May the nations in great need of peace see the importance of International Federation of Religions.”

From 1971 to 1981 and 1986-1991
In holding any activities and ceremonies at Samnak Poo Sawan and the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan, after the events, the World Peace Envoy Suchart Kosolkitiwong would offer small images of Buddha and various medals (for example: medals of Phra Sri Ariya Maitreya, medals of Luang Poo Tuad, medals of Luang Por Toh etc.), rolls of little inscribed plate of gold or silver (takrud), Talismanic Cloth to Protect Independence, Buddha’s Relics, consecrated batons, T-shirts etc. to followers and volunteers whose help made the events successfull.
On some occasions, the World Peace Envoy gave small images of Buddha and books as tokens to participants.
For distinguished guests, diplomatic corps, chairpersons of the ceremonies, chairpersons of the organizing committees who honoured the events by their presence, the World Peace Envoy presented them with various images of worship, Buddha’s pictures, books of the International Federation of Religions (IFR), commemorative books of the events, various souvenirs, Jesus Christ’s pictures, miniature Peace Pagodas enshrined with Buddha’s Relics, various medals, small images of Buddha, medals of IFR symbols and Samnak Poo Sawan’s keyrings with the symbol of the Peace Conference Hall etc.
While travelling abroad, tokens of appreciations the World Peace Envoy took with him to present to important foreigners and Thai people abroad included: books of the IFR, bookcases with Thai Tripitaka scriptures, miniature royal barge of Supannahong which was a symbol of friendship in peace cooperation, miniature Peace Pagoda enshrined with Buddha’s Relics which symbolized happiness and peace in the world, Buddha’s pictures, small images of Buddha, and various medals, etc.
From 1992-2004
On religious occasions, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day and on official holidays etc., the World Peace Envoy Ven. Ariyawanso Bhikkhu published Dhamma books to distribute to followers and faithful people who joined the ceremonies. Sometimes he distributed books, Buddha amulets or medals depending on the occasion.

My Dream
Suchart Kosolkitiwong

Everything is transient (Aniccam) and non-self (Anatta). If talking in terms of Gods, in terms of souls, I believe that my soul touched closely with that of Somdej Phra Buddhacharn (Toh) Brahma Ransi. Nowadays, I am whom? Who am I? I don’t know.
Why is this article called “My Dream?” I was born in 1943. Talking in terms of my life compass, I had no idea that I would do religious work and serve the Great Masters’ souls. But when the world faced with crises, fightings and killings intensified, and ‘the day when the guns roared’ at Baan Na Bua, Renu Nakhon District, Nakhon Phanom Province on August 7th, 1965, the World of Souls deemed it necessary to establish Samnak Poo Sawan in the earthly world very soon. The World of Souls singled me out to work for them. I just did for the sake of doing, day in and day out, without thinking what it would be, because I only thought of what to say, what to order, and why I must do it accordingly. Now, it has been 12 important years going on to 13 years in this earthly world.
I grew up among group of, it is called, ruffians, among selfish people. Why do I use the words “My Dream?” During my childhood, I didn’t want to study, just traveled along. When I was 17-18 years of age, God wanted to make use of me and I just did it accordingly. Using the folks’ tongue, I have no ear at all for foreign languages not even English or French. But I work with God. God has made me travel, generally speaking, around the world. Travelling to Rome, I shook hands with H.H. Pope John Paul II.
I have heard that Somdej Phra Buddhacharn (Toh) Brahma Ransi tried to make peace in the world. He tried by all means for people to turn to talk to each other, have compassion to one another, forgive and help one another; he wanted peace to prevail on earth.
At the end of 1973, I was appointed envoy, envoy from another world, the Envoy of the World of Divinity. It caused writers or historians to laugh and asked by whom was this kind of envoy appointed? Which country recognized him? But I still pleased with myself because this kind of envoy was appointed in Heaven, and in this world there is only me.
Later, I, in the name of Peace Envoy, carried out the work of the International Federation of Religions and led the Peace Mission to promote cordial relationship at the Vatican City and in Jerusalem. Now who am I? I am whom? I don’t know. But there is a whisper from heaven telling that in the future I will be the most important person in the country and in the world. Whether the world will be peaceful or dreadful depends on me. All this, you may follow up accordingly.
